Taylor Swift: Long Live Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Long Live Lyrics
The time we stood with our shaking hands
The crowds and stands went wild
We were the Kings and the Queens
And they read off our names
The night you danced like you knew our lives
Would...

I believe that Taylor is Talking about her band and Career. To me though this song is talking about graduation and how my friends and I have to move on. We will remeber all that we went through in high school and move forward with our lives. Everyone who made fun of us etc. is the pretenders. The Synics are the ones that said we would never make it. It is about everything we have had to go through up until now and that they will help us in the future. Also that we will always remember our friends and everything we experenced together. And how we have waited for this moment forever and now it is hard to see it happen, because we are all going our own ways. Yet we will always be together :)

To me this song could be about a lot of different things but the one I like to roll w/ is about a guy she dated who she really cared for & loved. & even though they might not be anymore she still wants those magical moments they shared to be remembered.

I think it's about the story of Taylor's and her band, which she tells it differently with fairytale style. "all the kingdom light shined" means the stage lights. "confetti falls to the ground" is like the end of a concert. "you held your head like a hero,on a history book page" means the expression of her band who won awards and they all will be written on history of music awards, just like "we will be remembered".

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think it means different things altogether. She is talking about her life in general. She can probably be talking about Taylor Lautner, a guy she dated in her career. 'the crowd went wild' probably hints towards this. She loved him, and will always care for him, and want him to know that she will never forget him and their relationship meant a lot to them. She wants him to never forget about him and wants his children to know about them.

I think this song is about high school graduation, and how it is a very important part of everyone's life. The lyrics read "... and they read off our names." If it was, like someone else suggested, a song about the band, when would they read off the band member's names? Also, after high school, it really is the "start of an age". "The pictures" where they were "waiting for this moment" could be of their many years in high school.

This song is basically just talking about her career and everyone that helps make it possible (like her band members. She is telling them to really live this time up because not everyone gets the chance to do all that they are doing (being famous) and that it will be over before they know it so make it worth while and make sure to remember everything because it is a once in a lifetime thing. :)
