Taylor Swift: The Great War Meaning
Song Released: 2022
The Great War Lyrics
-
The Great War is probably a metaphor of Taylor's relationship with somebody. In the song she kind of confesses she is the bad guy, but because she doesn't want to get hurt. Like when she says,"You said I have to trust more freely, but diesel is desire, you were playing with fire" is probably when she first mentions that emotional shield. She also says, "I drew curtains close, drank my poison all alone", this is where she kind of says, "I'm not the good guy in this story." But the guy she's in a relationship with is patient and in the end, it all turns out good with Taylor saying,"I will always be yours, 'cause we survived the great war"
