I think the whole song's meaning is the main character (A) comes back to her hometown after years in the city and reminisces on her high school crush (or someone from the past who used to live in the same area, let's call them B).
"It's the kind of cold, fogs up windshield glass, but I felt it when I passed you" even when their relationship has ended a long time ago, they still have a cold relationship. I can assume there's tension between them both.

In these lines, their relationship begins to end. A gives a code to B that she will be staying at her parents' house meaning that if B wants to meet A, B knows where B should find A.
