Taylor Swift: Untouchable Meaning
Song Released: 2009
Untouchable Lyrics
I'm reaching out and I just can't tell you why
I'm caught up in you, I'm caught up in you
Untouchable, burning brighter than the sun
And when you're close I feel like coming undone
In the middle...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:This song is about loving a boy who is out of reach. He either doesn't love you back, doesn't know you exist, or loves someone else. You don't give up hope that someday he will be yours.
-
2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:This is a song about loving a boy who you know, despite your denial, that he's the one thing that you can't reach.
Just like when we were little kids, and we would get frustrated because the stars in the sky looked close enough to touch, but no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't touch those stars, you get frustrated because your trying as hard as you can to get the boy, but no matter how far you are willing to go for him, Willing to reach out, you can't get him. -
3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:This song is about the pain that you feel when you love someone that you know you can't have
"untouchable like a distant diamond sky" like a distant diamond sky that looks so close you think you can touch it, but when you try, you can't, she thinks she can get the boy, but when she tries, she can't.
"I'm reaching out, and I just can't tell you why" shes finding that she's trying to get him, but she doesn't know why,
"I'm caught up In you" self explanatory
"untouchable, burning brighter than the sun, and when your close, I feel like coming undone" she feels he's really special, that she feels like telling him how she feels Everytime she's near him"
Chorus -
"in the middle of the night, when im in this dream, it's like a million littles stars spelling out your name" she loves him so much, that even in her dreams she glamourizes him and thinks about him (million little stars spelling out your name)
"you gotta cmon, cmon, say that we'll be together, cmon, cmon, little taste of heaven" she's saying that if he asks her out, it would be so perfect, that it would be compared to getting a taste of what heavens like.
Verse two-
"it's half full, and I won't wait here all day" she's saying that she won't wait forever for him
"I know your saying that you'd be here anyways" he told her that he likes her, but hasn't made a move yet -
Same as the top1 answer/interpreter.. so kilig much.. I have this kind of love life for as in now.. My boy used it to his my day pertaining to me..to us

I think this song can also be about something else than someone you can never have, I can relate to the song a lot too.
There is this boy I like, and he likes me too. We both know this, as we told each other. But now we are kind of stuck, we don't really know how to continue. Neither of us dares to make the next move.
I notice that this boy is really scared of failling in love, he has been hurt a lot before, and eventhough he knows I really like him, he won't go out with me. So he is untouchable too, even when we do like each other a lot. To me the song is about tnat: being unsure how to convince him. -
Yes, for most people this song appears to be about liking a boy who is out of reach; he is untouchable. But you can really interpret the lyrics anyway you like, depending on your own emotions.
For example, what about someone who has a crush on one of their teachers, or a celebrity? They think about them all the time, and wish they could have them, but knows they never can because they are untouchable. They are so far out of reach. "I wanna feel you by my side, standing next to me." You just want to be near that person all the time, but you can't.
Or even someone who has strong feelings for someone of the same gender. Like a girl liking another girl, but that girl is in love with some other guy and you'll never have her.
There are so many ways that people can relate to these lyrics and that's why Taylor is so awesome :) -
This is about missing someone that you love so much. This is a song is a beautiful song which everybody can relate to.
