   I think this is about a friendship which is quickly turning into a relationship. Everyone sees it coming and warns them not to rush things but they do, and it's too good to be true. Unpredictable things happen and it didn't work out how it was meant to. It didn't last long 'didn't it all seem new and exciting'. But while it was happening, it felt like it was wonderland and was going to last forever. However, it is still a confusing relationship 'life was never worse but never better' implies that they don't know how they feel about it.

   For me this song perfectly describes my first experience of love. I was 19, working abroad as a volunteer for a year. I was part of a big group of volunteers that I shared flats, lived, worked, and spent all of my freetime with. Early on I became friends with a local guy who somehow always had an interest in me when he saw me at our house parties. After some months I started hanging out alone with him and his friends. Since I didn't have a car he would usually pick me up and drop me off at home after. One night he stopped me when I was about to leave his car. He confessed he had feelings for me and we shared our first kiss. From then on, our friendship turned into a romantic relationship behind everyone elses backs. We knew it couldn't last forever since my stay in the country had an end date and we just knew it would never work out. Still, we threw ourselves fully into it and I had my first time with him. We tried to keep 'us' a secret, but people definitely started talking and caught onto us. In the end I was a total mess, I couldn't bear the thought of having to leave this all behind, and the moment I had to leave was really terrible. Still, it was absolutely magical and romantic and new and exciting! :)

   I think this song was about a relationship that excelled quickly even though people warned them not to rush into things.I feel like the guy was rushing more and she wasn't ready but it they were caught up in love so when it broke they were not stable.

   I am guessing that this song is about a relationship or friendship that is slowly spiralling out of control. "But there were strangers watching/whispers turned to talking/talkibg to screams". This suggests that there is something going wrong in the way someone is acting, but the warning signs are being played off as no big deal.

   Taylor is basically explaining her short romance with the heartthrob Harry Styles. She sings "didn't you flash your green eyes at me", and Styles is known for his mesmerizing green eyes. She also says "didn't you calm my fears with a Cheshire cat smile". This can mean two different things. She could plainly be just describing his smile, or more likely she could be talking about Styles's hometown Cheshire, England.
