The All-American Rejects: It Ends Tonight Meaning
Song Released: 2006
It Ends Tonight Lyrics
They strangle me
I can't explain myself at all.
And all the wants
And all the needs
All I don't want to need at all.
The walls start breathing
My mind's unweaving
Maybe it's best you leave me alone.
A weight is...

This song isn't about a woman. It's about a man like the guy at the top said. AAR announced that on television because they were sick of people thinking that the song was about a girl.

Just had a frustrating break up with my former girlfriend... Soo maybe I'm biased or whatever but.
"Your subtleties
They strangle me
I can't explain myself at all.
And all the wants
And all the needs
All I don't want to need at all."
His woman is dependent and drivin him crazy, so .. He gives up.
"The walls start breathing
My mind's unweaving
Maybe it's best you leave me alone.
A weight is lifted
On this evening
I give the final blow."
Pretty much sayin, please leave me I've had enough but I love you so I aint gonna do it.
"When darkness turns to light,
It ends tonight
It ends tonight"
Tonight is the last night being together. The break up sex though... unmentioned O.o
"A falling star
Least I fall alone.
I can't explain what you can't explain.
You're finding things that you didn't know
I look at you with such disdain"
Eventually she gonna realize she's crazy and you realize you are way better off without her crazy dependent neurotic self.
Maybe a little biased, but interpretation is meaning and that's what it means to me
Peace -
According to a vh1 interview, this song was about a roommate of lead singer tyson Ritter's. The roommate would get depressed and go to bed early, and it started to rub off on tyson, until he wanted to just strangle the guy.
