The Avett Brothers: Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise Meaning
Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise Lyrics
in the fine print they tell me what's wrong and what's right
(Man"s laws, bible laws have covered society in darkness telling humankind black and white what they must do and what must be...
-
This song is about life and organized religion.
Darkness flooded in light...fine print, wrong and right...comes in black and white...frightened by those who don't see it. that's seems to be about the bible.
Nothing owed, deserved, expected...your life doesn't change by the man that's elected...loved by someone, never rejected...decide what to be and go be it. that's their advice on how to handle life.
A dream, one day i'd see it...like a bird in cage, broke in, demanded somebody free it! that's them preaching back to the churches.
There was a kid with a head full of doubt...so i'll scream till I die and the last of those bad thoughts are finally out. that's them realizing that they can't change organized religion.
But there is still a road full of promise.
