#This song means a lot to me because I am trapped in a late man's soul. We felt the love at the time and at some stage I let him go. Altho i accept that things happened for a reason, i can't accept that my true love (yes, i still believe that) was taken from me. If I could, I would take him back THIS minute. It's been 2 years since his death.
Even tho I might only reach ONE soul out there, I know I'll change someone's life when I say that if it's not necessary, "Don't let go..." -
This song seems my last love story: we've broken but I still love him although he's a new girlfriend.I think "she gave him things I couldn't give to him" that's one of the reasons I can't forget him and let him goes. this song reminded me of my ex boyfriend for almost 3 years who cheated on my. he tried to win me back but apparently things didnt turned out well. recently i heard that he was already with that girl. the girl he cheated on me. then i realize, i still have feelings for him. She just went through a break up or heart break and is basically on her knees.
She can imagine in the future seeing the man she was once with completely in love with someone else and with a family, and she hasn't gotten anywhere and is still where she was when he left her.
He told her when he left "Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead" and she remembers it and repeats it to herself. -
I believe she is talking about a past relationship that left her heart broken. And after time he has moved on and found a new girl. Though she is still in love with him, or maybe with what they had. I think this song is about Adele and someone she broke up with because she wasn't able to give him the things he wanted.I'm assuming these things are marriage or kids. But then she hears he settles down with someone else and her feelings come rushing back and she knows he won't love her again so she resorts to finding someone like him, although still hoping he will never forget her.

I think its about how the dude left her and settled down with this other girl and she's like "nevermind I'll find someone like you" even though she really still loves him and keeps on "turning up out of the blue uninvited" cause she couldnt fight the urge to go see him. I agree with most of the interpretations of the song, I just want to add that when she says "Who would have known how
Bitter sweet this would taste" its like she's happy too see him after long time but its loo late(that's why it was bittersweet)now all she can do is wish him all the best and hope that one day she will find someone who will be just like him...this is one of the best songs i've heard in long time and touches me personally because girl i was with sent me this song few months before we broke up,and now i want her back but i dont know if she will want me,and it is so SAD,because i know how much i love her and i really had the the best time of my life with her. -
This song is about regret and love lost. She is now older and has realized that in the end he was the 'one' but she gave up on him and ended the relationship (which was a short lived but passionate romance) Hence "I heard that your dreams came true?" meaning she never believed in him. "Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you" referring to her not giving him all her love. "Old friend why are you so shy not like you to hold back or hide from the light" He loved her and she hurt him like no one ever did so his attitude to her changed to caution. She hopes that by showing up unexpectedly after all these years that he would have forgiven her and take her back only for her to realize he has found happiness with someone who cared for him from the beginning."Never mind I'll find somebody like you, I wish nothing but the best for you too." Her efforts have been in vain because he has moved on and politely told her he doesn't feel the same anymore. In her voice you can hear sarcasm but also sincerity like her emotions are in shambles because while she still loves him and his rejected her she knows it's her own fault for losing him to begin with. "Don't forget me I beg" She realized in the end she loved him more than anyone and hopes that she meant something to him regardless of her betrayal. "I remember you said sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead" This tells us that he loved her once but has learned from his heartbreak and that she must now learn to do the same. "Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste" :) I love this song and it brought tears to my eyes because I was in the situation that the guy is in. Don't wait till you lose that person because Love doesn't wait but it will forgive...

the story is about a relationship that ended,and she imagines down the road he has met and married fulfilling his and her dream they had kept while together. you can tell its imagination as she has yet to fulfill that dream and wondering if she will without him. she sees a part of her still a part of him that she is begging him not to forget her that she can have her dreams come true also. obscure on a conscious basis, the complexity is she is not certain she is not still in love with him. its a dream you cannot let go of until you change the characters and then it maybe better to silently keep the original characters in place. "wow" what a magnificent voice!! more happiness than you deserve, please live forever adele.
