Avenged Sevenfold: Crimson Day Meaning
Crimson Day Lyrics
Brought endless rain
Out in the cold, I lost my way
But storms won't last
They clear the air
For something new
The sun came out and brought you through
A lifetime full of words to say
A hope that time will slow the passing...

#1 top rated interpretation:Okay, so this one's kinda unique in comparison to all the other songs in the A7X catalogue. "Crimson Day" is a rare moment of personal introspection that lead singer M. Shadows conducted upon himself. Typically, A7X lyrics are either stories told in a third person narration, or songs whose personal topics are about the band altogether as a singular unit, and not just about M. Shadows himself. "Crimson Day" also explores two different topics simultaneously. It's a song about the personal anguish & grief that M. Shadows was still carrying within himself over losing his best friend, the Rev—Avenged Sevenfold's original drummer—even in the present day several years after his untimely death. This black cloud of sorrow Shadows was perpetually plagued by was finally lifted when he and his wife gave birth to their first child. Because their baby was birthed in the wee hours of the morning, Shadows's euphoria was amplified when he & his wife held their newborn baby and witnessed the sun rising. It lit up the morning sky in a fiery hue that Shadows viewed as a blazing red/orange glow; thus the phrase "crimson day". It served as a symbolic inspiration to the lead singer, who equated this process of his grief having finally surrendered to the elation of becoming a parent, to the process of the sun rising each day to vanquish the darkness and mark a new chapter in all of our lives.

Dijeron que la canción estaba escrita por Synyster y se la dedicaba a su sobrino. Que es el hijo de Matt.

M. Shadows based this song on the birth of his son. However, the band wants you to interpret the lyrics in your own way and find your own meaning.
