Avenged Sevenfold: Critical Acclaim Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Critical Acclaim Lyrics
Like me motherf**ker,
You've been at it for too long
While you feed off others insecurities
You stand in front of me and bite the hand that feeds
Self-righteousness is wearing thin
(Lies inside...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think the song is a giant middle finger to ALL politicians. It's an attack on political correctness generally.
Support for Bush? Puh-Leeze. The GOP are the people whose luxurious lifestyle is supported by those families that send the troops to fight- people they have contempt for (I'm a Republican and a patriot, btw- so before you say anything prepare to shut the fuck up). If there's anything that defines the Bush family and the political establishment they come from- it's contempt for "the rest of us".
Then the song tears after the Democrats for forgetting the working class and complaining that they now vote differently because the Democrats have abandoned them.
And neither have contributed a fucking thing to this country. The whole political class has an entitlement mentality and the belief they have the "right to rule" over us because they're so smart and we're just the hoi polli. -

#2 top rated interpretation:The song is taking the general liberal views and saying fuck you. Shh be quiet you might piss somebody off, that's the politically correct shit that we have to deal with. And the people who bash the president and the current war America is involved in, saying they don't give anything to this country execpt complaints. I'm a U.S. Marine, and this is my favorite song just because its a song the hits the way I feel perfect

3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:Please look more deeply into the lyrics before cherry-picking them to fit your paradigm. It's anti-government through and through. The first part criticizes politicians for engaging in unnecessary wars. Their luxurious lifestyle insults the poor family the soldier likely comes from. The second half criticizes politicians for turning on their own people, particularly the working class, for voting ways they don't like. That's the "high society," the group of people who look down upon the workers and voters who prop them up, or "biting the hand that feeds." And, when the guilt comes back to them, it's all about pointing fingers. The Rev's part is a more literal attack against the two-party politician system, calling them "clones," and their policies fake, unreal.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

While it criticizes those who criticize the war, I believe they were more against the war and were wondering why liberals couldn't grant us a way out. Well I have an answer, a conservative Congress.
-
Bush is a moron. He fucked the states like Obama is. And for those in the military I applaud what you do. But your fighting for all the wrong reasons.
-
I would like to think that A7X is blaming the people for not doing anything against the war and pointing their fingers to the people dying there instead of blaming the goverment, who started and promotes all the suffering just to have a better life-quality.
-
It's pretty much a "fuck you" song. God, I love Avenged Sevenfold. :3

This song can have multiple meanings, although my favorite is saying "Fuck you" to all the liberals in America who do nothing but complain, and blame the soldiers fighting in the war. Even though war is never the answer, you can't just start blaming the troops, whether or not you support the war, you still have to show your respect and support to our troops who protect our freedom. That's what I think Shadows is saying, at least, and I fully agree with him.
-
the first verse is about how the very people who are screwing up a group of people [ a country, a school class etc.]
cryin about how horrible people are where THEY are the only problem!!!!ps its not telling them its time for something real its IVE HAD ENOUGH ITS TIME FOR SOMETHING REAL :] -
This song is about people protesting against the war. That's really it
-
eh, I think it's a combination. Telling the leaders who send people to fight for their precious oil under the pretense of a war to fuck off, and telling people who criticize but do nothing to enact change to fuck off. But I don't think there's any reason to think he's targeting any specific political parties
-
While the song has an undeniably conservative outlook, I think some of the lyrics could be interpreted either way. The song is just saying it doesn't matter if you are conservative or liberal, if you believe something is wrong, don't just sit there and complain or blame others, just get off your ass and do something about it.

A7X's songs help me explain many things. This being one of my favorite songs, I love to show liberal fucks these words and say FUCK YOUUUUU!!! Thank you all who fought overseas for America! God Bless America and Sevenfold! Oh yeah, Obama has a worse approval rating than Jimmy Carter...

This song is saying fuck you to all the dumbass liberals who are bashing bush and are troops in the war. It's saying they should shut up and show some respect for are troops and stop complaining. Love the country we live in or go die!
Go avenged!
Love and miss you Jimmy -
I think this song is talking about how George Bush can send people that have lives and loved ones out in to the war but George Bush can't fight his own war that he started. He's just a coward and a cunt and doesn't give a fuck that someones dying out there and its his fucking fault. That they've had enough of his bullshit pointing fingers at people and that they can't do it themselves. And its there fault and they sending poor kids out there and he acts like it's not his fault I guess this my opinion.
