Avenged Sevenfold: Critical Acclaim Meaning
Song Released: 2007
Critical Acclaim Lyrics
Like me motherf**ker,
You've been at it for too long
While you feed off others insecurities
You stand in front of me and bite the hand that feeds
Self-righteousness is wearing thin
(Lies inside...

"We've got this high society looking down on this very foundation / Constantly reminding us that our actions are the cause of all their problems / Pointing the fingers in every direction / Blaming their own nation for who wins elections
They've never contributed a f**king thing to the country they love to criticize"
This part I think has a lot to do with the line, "When the rich go to war it's the poor that die". Also, people who don't even vote love to openly criticize how our country is being run even though those people didn't do a thing to contribute to who runs the country. And, bottom line, I think it is a wake-up call to all those Americans who complain about what a terrible monster the USA is because (boo hoo) we went to war in Iraq & Afghanistan and instead of sticking by our country they would rather talk about how high and mighty they are, how wrong our leaders are, but don't even vote for them. A lot of Americans suck at being Americans. -
Ya its just basically telling all the ass holes that if you don't like what are county is doing don't just sit down and do nothing and criticize everyone else and that they shouldn't dare insult America when mothers are losing there sons in Iraq.
-
It's about the people who disapprove of the war in Iraq.
-
This song is talking about the American soldiers in Iraq, and how they are fighting to protect Americans. but it is criticizing Americans that don't support our troops! if you listen to the lyrics carefully you can understand it. a lyrical example: "blood on their hands fighting to protect our rights so we can maintain a lifestyle that insults their very existence" its basically telling people who are to liberal to at least show our soldiers respect for what they do to Fuck off and leave America or start acting like what a true American should act like!
-
Ok so this song basically says fuck you to all the people who are blaming bush for "messing up" our country. Bush wasn't a horrible president.
All the way from the east to the west
We've got this high society looking down on this very foundation
Constantly reminding us that our actions are the cause of all their problems
Pointing the fingers in every direction
Blaming their own nation for who wins elections
They've never contributed a fucking thing to the country they love to criticize
Now there is a lot in here that you can tell that's what they are saying. Read the last line that means that the people who criticize bush never did anything to help the country.
A7X FOR LIFE!!
AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! -
To:Hammer90
He never tore his throat that was just a RUMOR. when they first formed and got a record deal they strait up told them that their first CD would be all screaming and their second would be a combo of screams and singing and that their third would be singing. He didn't tear his throat and A7X did not sell out. Their CD's go as follows Sounding the Seventh Horn, Waking the Fallen, City of Evil, Avenged Sevenfold. -
Its a flip off to the government and the people who started the war and didn't fight in it. " so how does it feel to know that someones kid in the heart of of America has blood on their hands fighting to defend your rights so you can maintain the lifestyle that insults his family's existence?"
-
M Shadows didn't tear his throat. That was just a rumor. He knew he wanted to eventually stop screaming before a7x even made the Waking the fallen album. at least that's what a producer said on the All Excess pass DVD. Sorry, I probably shouldn't be posting this, but that rumor really bothers me.
-
I think everything already said is correct, but I also believe this is a big fuck you to everyone who doubted his hardcoreness anymore... Because as you know he tore his throat before the city of evil album.. and he was really moderate in his screaming.... But critically acclaimed was the first song he really let loose and showed everyone he still had the vocal range! M SHADOW IS A BEAST!!
-
The entire song is talking about the people that don't believe in the War in Iraq and George Bush. "Shh be quiet you might piss somebody off" and "All the way from the east to the west
We've got this high society looking down on this very foundation
Constantly reminding us that our actions are the cause of all their problems
Pointing the fingers in every direction
Blaming their own nation for who wins elections
They've never contributed a f**king thing to the country they love to criticize"
All the people that don't like what our great nation is doing. If you don't like it, I have a solution to your problem: GET OUT!!!! -
This song is saying Fuck You, to all the people, who, yes, have lost faith in their own country. but also to the people who sit here and criticize, but don't do anything to change it. Which does not necessarily mean try to get rid of the president, but to make living in the country better, because apparently it's just that bad. M.Shadows said that there are people who will just sit there and scream and yell just because. but they don't DO anything. That's just what I think.
A7X for life. WOO!! -
I believe this song is saying fuck you to everyone who has lost faith in the very country they live in.
