Avenged Sevenfold: Save Me Meaning
Save Me Lyrics
SKULL!!
Sorry, did I wake your dream?
Some questions run to deep
We only, only wake up when we sleep
Led by the lunar light, trouble's all we'd find
Lost our way tonight
Is it something we said?
Is it...

#1 top rated interpretation:I perosnally think this song is about not 'fitting in to today's society. (Is it something we said? Is it something we said to them? Is it something we said?)
Also I think its about how the world has become awfully 'polluted' in several senses. How we so easily take drugs, kill, drink away our lives, etc. I believe this is about wanting to get the world out of its self destructive ways before the end is here. (Save me. I'm trapped in a vile world. Where the endings all the same as any other: we're only here to die. Save me. I'm losing my only dream. I can use some guiding light, some place to go...if you hear me let me know. if you hear me let me know.) also, about wanting some guiding through this life. -
No son you knew what it was when you made the deal... We all gotta own up eventually son... Take it like a g when the time comes.best of luck

Two guys are walking through the woods after a night drinking, one is a metalhead and the other is so drunk he keeps falling over.
-
It about a spiritism session to speak with The Rev. The band sold their souls to demons in exchange of fame, now the demons took The Revs young life as payment, and the bands is looking for guidance.

Love, loss, anger, regret, sadness. I think there's a religious note in there, with the "Save me, I need some guiding light" but that could also just be a plead for help from others.
The voices could be the constant gossip that the world partakes in, friends not really being friends. The loss of your wife/girlfriend could be added as well, as the "is it something WE said" indicating it could be about mutual hate or disgust yet still in love.
"They All Know" could be interpreted as paranoia of something you might have done, as it is whispered in an angry tone of voice, which would lead to guilt.
Ultimately A7x could've just been messing with the emotions of it's fanbase due to the giant mix of emotions. -

I believe this masterpiece has more than one meaning, up there someone said "If you listen to the song you can tell that it is about try to wake up from a nightmare, which makes sense because it's the last song of the album" and I think it does make sense, but this song's meaning goes a lot deeper than that, it represents an emotional journey to everyone who listens to it, and everyone gets a different idea in the end, it takes you through a train of different feelings and rhythms and beats, but after all we all are right with something: this song is epic and will make even the manliest one sob.

I think its about losing what you truly have in your life and are attempting to get that person or something back. Like losing someone you love and you think its all just a dream waiting to end and turning into this horrible nightmare. As you are trying to get that person back as you feel like you are losing everything you honestly tried to become. As avenged sevenfold put it, they are thinking of the loss they have to go through with Jimmy dying and they think its all a dream. This song can be interpreted in almost any way u can think of.

I love what Avenged Sevenfold have done with this song. M. Shadows said that at first, the album "Nightmare" was supposed to be about how wrong society is today. But when The Rev. passed, the majority of the songs on the album became about him. But I think that this song is combining the two ideas, ultimately conveying the message: 'how could I possibly live in this awful world without Jimmy?'. It's pure genius, I can't possibly begin to explain my love for Avenged. <3

This song goes right along with "Fiction". Jimmy's suicide note in "Fiction" had to do something with a skull. That's why Jimmy says "Skull"at the beginning of "Save Me". It's hard to tell but it is him. It wasn't until June 27, 2010 that "Nightmare" was released which was also around the time Jimmy died. "Save Me" and "Fiction" were the last two songs ever made by "The Rev" and they both had to do with the suicide note. Jimmy was one talented son of a bitch.

It's a song about the Rev. The whole fucking Nightmare is about the Rev.

I believe this song is about different paths in life and you went down the wrong one or something and you are regiting the fact that you are down it. Man the chrous is my favorite part of the song it makes the song more structured

If you listen to the song you can tell that it is about try to wake up from a nightmare, which makes sense because it's the last song of the album
