Avenged Sevenfold - Shattered by Broken Dreams Meaning
Shattered by Broken Dreams Lyrics
I'll miss you very much
Room with empty bottles, broken dreams
And pride still running high, always on your side
But I wanted more for you
You can't go on this way
And now I see it all fall through
We pray for...

for the first person, they better not start considering this song was written almost 10 years before he died, and it is probably about justin sane but the rev did do hard drugs but had quit before he died
-
i think it might've been about the former bass player Justin Sane because M Sahows said that after trying to commit suicide, then getting out of a mental hospital, he did a lot of drugs
-
Actually none of the band members ever did drugs, if they did it wasn't much
-
Given the references to overdosing and drug use, I'd say this song is about a close friend who is destroying his life with drug use. Before anyone begins with the "The Rev knew he was going to die" stuff, please don't -- I don't know about now, but the whole band has always had a reputation of doing drugs and partying hard. Look online in their older magazine interviews. Still, it could be about a member of the band or just someone they know/knew. Pretty straight-forward song though. I'll type up lyrics soon if no one else does.
