Avenged Sevenfold: So Far Away Meaning
Song Released: 2011
So Far Away Lyrics
Never shamed but never free
Alive to hear the broken heart with all that it could
Lived a life so endlessly
Saw beyond what others see
I tried to heal your broken heart with all that I could
Will you...

Synyster Gates wrote this song about his late Grandfather, he was part way through writing his song when the Rev passed away..
He finished the song off with the thoughts of both his Grandfather and the Rev. So yeah, this song IS about the Rev, hence the video, but most people don't realise that it was 'partly' about Synyster's Grandfather.. -
Surprisingly little lyric interpretations for this song.
Obviously about the rev and how it's difficult coping with it but place aside the fact that the rev died and this song can help anyone through a rough time if a loved one has died it can apply to anyone you want -
This song was written by Synyster gates for his lost band member the rev. The two were like brothers and it really show the feelings of the whole band for their loss. It was the first song writen by syn for the band. The song appered on the nightmare cd and was often played at most concert for a7x were they ask to the fans to hold up there lighters/cellphones so they can show there respect for the rev.
Love you Jimmy u are missed by many -
The song is simply a tribute to there best friend and late drummer The Rev and stating that he will be missed greatly by both the band and the fans. Avenged Sevenfold foREVer. R.I.P The Rev
