Avenged Sevenfold: The Stage Meaning
Song Released: 2016
The Stage Lyrics
A welcomed change from the abeyance of a ghost town catacomb
No need for counsel I appreciate the time I’m not alone
(Why don’t you get my lawyer on the phone)
There were days these child eyes

#1 top rated interpretation:The Stage is about how our minds are so drawn in and almost controlled by the media and how some of the sick and twisted politicians and leaders in this world decide to resolve solutions. When M.Shadows sings "When did the walking apes decide that nuclear war was the only solution for us keeping the score?" He is saying what we're all thinking - "When was nuking people to get a point across a viable thing to do?" When he sings "Can't you wake up?" He's telling us to stop taking in what is happening and realise the horrors of the world instead of leaving it be or sugarcoating it. Even in the lyrics in the verses and the music videos suggest how all throughout history, people have been made to do the dirty work while their "superiors" have been laid back while they send people to their deaths. The idea of the song is how you cannot escape conflict, war or any form of disagreement in this world.

The Stage by Avenged Sevenfold, very deep lyrics. Yeah, the lyrics said it's about simulation theory. I think you really analyzed the lyrics. Thanks for the info about Josh Clark and the album.
Please read Matthew 24:36, 2 Peter 3:10. Deuteronomy 29:29, Isaiah 55:9, and Psalm 118:8-9 KJV

This song is about simulation theory. He talks about key stages in his life like he's someone else's entertainment. The stage is our reality and we're all just freaks in a cage being gawked at as the crowd peers in at us. But who is the crowd? Is it God, or aliens, or are we a computer simulation? If we are in a simulation then why wasn't Jesus enough to end it? Or the invention of nuclear weapons? Now he feels alone as he contemplates what his existence means. Listen to The end of the World by Josh Clark and this entire album will make more sense.

They are tired of the fame and popularity as they Perform upon the stage. It feels like a cage. To them and they are tired of it. Like for fucking real.
