Avenged Sevenfold: This Means War Meaning
This Means War Lyrics
Harbor in the shadows
Feel this weight of sin
Hammer it away
(Die) with the guilt of a thousand evil soldiers
(Die) Watch the sight usher me a astray
I can't go on this way
Not as I am today
The only side of me is...
-
Wrong lyrics? I believe it is AWOL soldiers, not evil soldiers
-
I believe it means that the world we live in is going to hell and if we don't stand up and take it back we will go down with them.

A song about the war created in Someone's mind between Good and Evil that sometimes pushes It's false Ego to go against Himself. In some way similar to a mind programmed Individual. Who's like a modern day Rocketman that's on a suicide mission with and against his false Ego, either to destroy the Monster or be destroyed by the Monster. The Monster in Somebody's unhealthy or possessed mind can falsely represent for him a Satan like entity or a God like entity that he's struggling and fighting for, or against. All in the chaotic confusion of his mind. All together is bout the spiritual war going on. That starts in your subconscious mind first that crosses over in the fight to win and have your soul saved. All in order to become a new 'born again' soul in Christ. I hope.

Recognizably Now mentally Suffering from self inflicted effects of self destructive addiction/drug abuse has caused him to (psychologically)have this countless number of "battlefields-of-the-,mind" going on simultaneously an the damage amount ever-increasingly Which leaves him no choice->To DecLare WAR!! Its the only way to rid the mind of all the deamons one can self-deceptively feed his own mind to.....that is of course:... 'til "THIS-MEANS-WAR!!!"
-
Its about someone who has nothing to lose "no home to call my own" and is determined to finish what he needs be done whatever the cost.
-
I believe it means its time for a change like fighting an addiction, like he said 'i can't go on this way, not as I am today. That's how I felt when I heard this song,it changed me.
