Avenged Sevenfold: Tonight the World Dies Meaning
Tonight the World Dies Lyrics
Learn to live another day
Doubt the choices that we've made
I know that we can't hide our shame
It's only in disguise
Drowning in our own debris
Fool our thoughts as though we're free
Close our eyes so we can...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think the song is a statement about how when the band lost Jimmy, they lost the world. "I'll run away with you tonight....tonight the world dies".
Also I think the song is a statement about what we take for granted *the world, metaphorically in the song*. Drowning in our own debris could be gluttony or greed, or immorality. Perhaps the band assumed Jimmy would always be there with them, making music, touring and being great friends, and in one night the "world" died. Their world dying *symbolically Jimmy dying* was something they took for granted and it was taken from them at an inconvient time in their lives... -
When I first listened to this it reminded me of some family back in the 1800's when people worked endlessly for horrible pay and children were working in sweatshops and dying in them, but as I read these different interpretations I realise this is not what this song is implying

This song is about someone who lost someone important to them.who threw drugs or alcohol or what ever can feal like they are still with that person even though they know its not real they rather "conciously pretend" that it is. Run away with you tonight means get drunk or high tonight to feel they are with that person tonigt for the band this person is jimmy

no one knows what this song means. you could interpret it as someone who gave up on quitting drugs [lost the meaning of our stay, learn to live another day/ doubt the choices that weve made i know that we cant hide our shame, its only in disguise{drug COULD be the disguise they are talking about}] and the chorus would match up with that as well, but the second verse is so far off from that, so who knows.
