Black Veil Brides: Lost It All Meaning
Lost It All Lyrics
With these hands I shook
The heavens to the ground
I Laid the gods
To rest
I held the key
To this kingdom
Lions guarding castle walls
Hail the king
Of death
Then I lost it all
Dead and broken my
Backs against...

#1 top rated interpretation:To those who think that this song is about the devil. Your not looking into the lyrics. "Hell the king of death" can mean other things besides the devil. It doesn't even have to be a person. The "king of death" can be suicide or cancer. But this song isn't the devils life story. It's about falling down. And being in a bad place in your life. But getting through it. Please do not judge this music because you we're to lazy to really read the lyrics.

#2 top rated interpretation:I think the lyrics, "I ruled the world
With these hands, shook the heavens to ground" Means that you were once strong but now considered "weak".
I think they lyrics, "Then I lost it all dead and broken" Means you're are kinda giving up on things.
I think the lyrics, "My backs against the wall, Cut me open, I'm just trying to breath, just trying figure it out" Means that you don't really know what to do and everything is very overwhelming to you.
I think the lyrics, "Because I built these walls to watch them crumbling down, I said then I lost it all, And who can save me now?" Means that you're trying to be this person or trying to act like this person that isn't really you but you're doing it to try and "fit in" or be "normal" but in the end it doesn't work, Everything falls apart and you give up and you think everything's hopeless and that no one could save you. -

#3 top rated interpretation:Like in a video Andy talked about this song and he said that it what the song meant was that when something happens and you feel like you lost it all, it's OK to be sad in the moment (I believe we all fall down sometimes) and that for that moment that it's OK not to be happy, it doesn't say that you get back up just fall and that's OK.
-
Thank you and I mean that from deep within my heart. I know it was difficult and you are so appreciated for being channeled and stepping up to challenge. Time to notice changes. Do look ahead. The past can hold onto you if you let it. Notice the changes.
-
I think its telling of "someone who worked very hard, for a long time to achieve and or(overcome)accomplish something that they(personally) were very proud of.....and suddenly, someone or something hurt/crushed and destroyed them, broke them spiritually and emotionally and broke their heart and it really got into their head and made them doubt everything about themselves. Stole their spirit, lost all trust and felt betrayed.
-
i think lost it all is a song for the depressed telling them to stand up for what they believe in no matter what losing it all is basically saying what more could you lose if you stand for whats right
-
It's about death and rebirth simpletons fucking hell watch the movie and you'll get it don't pick one song and say it's about the devil just cause he mentions the "king of death" which ain't the devil anyway... The song is about losing everything then coming back stronger! And more to the point if you watch the video there's no mention of the devil anywhere that album is all about F.E.A.R.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I believe that this song is portraying what we think. In the video clip the girl is misunderstood and tries to build up walls to make people think she is "normal" then her parents take action, they make her go to mental hospital. Thats when she lost it all. This song is trying to say that yeah we all fall down sometimes and it's okay, we all do it some fall harder than others sure but we all do it we all fall down.
-
*"I ruled the world--with these hands I shook the heavens to the ground..." I was the ruler, I broke heaven and it laid at me feet. *"Then I lost it all--dead and broken..." I lost my kingdom, causing myself to be broken and to die inside.
*"My backs against the wall--I'm just trying to breath, just trying to figure it out..." I'm lost and cornered. I need to figure it out, but I have no breath.
*I stood above--another, another jewel on the crown--I was the fear of men--but I was blind..." I stood on top of the world, and everyone feared me. But I couldn't see what it was doing to me.
*"I believe we all fall down sometimes..." Even though I was the king of the world, even though I myself ruled over the heavens, even though mankind feared me, I was still able to fall. Because even the greatest ruler on earth has to fall. I believe that no matter how great, no matter how strong, no matter who you are, we all fall at least once in our lives. -
I think that the video shows this girl who is misunderstood by her parents. She is different and her parents think she is insane, but she isn't. She is misunderstood.
-
The video portrays a mentally ill girl though from her point of view people are torturing her.
"I ruled the world with these hands I shook the heavens to the ground..." this means she was strong once. But now she has 'lost it all'. "Dead and broken my back's against the wall/cut me open..." she's probably sad and wounded.
"I was the fear of man..." this says that people are scared of ill people.
Then at last, Andy sings, "I believe that we all fall down sometimes..." so yeah, the meaning of the song is pretty much what everyone's saying. -
I think it's about how everyone will get low and feel like they have lost it all but its okay to feel like that sometimes. Its a part of life and everyone will experience those moments and that's okay.
-
Lost it all, personally means that although life may try to bring us down, we should rise up and continue, we all fall down sometime, we loose something but that shouldn't be our destruction but our strength to continue!

I think it means we have our ups and downs, but the music video shows what society thinks of us. They think we are crazy and need to be put in a mental hospital.
-
I think the song means that everyone has there ups and downs and how if you keep trying you will succeed. I think this song means a lot to me because i get depressed a lot. I think i should end my life some times cause i think i "lost it all" but then i put this song on and it reminds me that people have there bad days and good days and you got to get up and try.
-
i think it's talking about how we all have those bad days and you feel like its the end of the world, but you have to pick yourself back up and keep trying. it is saying that it gets the best of us all and thats okay. when it talks about hail the king of death i think its talking about the serious depression that we are plunged into after we have lost it all.
-
I think this song is so inspiring. It tells me that everyone has there ups and downs and it's okay to ask for help if your in a dark place and have 'lost it all' in your life like you have nothing to live for, It's always ok to ask for help regardless!
