Black Veil Brides: In the End Meaning
Song Released: 2012
In the End Lyrics
Whoa-oh
who will tell the story of your life.
In the end as my soul is laid to rest what is left of my body,or am I just a shell.
And I have fought and with flesh and blood I have commanded an army....

#1 top rated interpretation:This song, is about, making your mark on the world, and not being afriad to die! The line "Who will tell the story of your life?" Is about making sure there's people out there ready to tell your story after your death. The line "Born a Saint" Is about being a Saint, and showing everyone how great you are, and that you were born that way. It's an amazing song, and fits the Film "Legion Of The Black" :')

#2 top rated interpretation:In the end as we fade into the night (means don't be afraid to be yourself and when your time comes face it head on cuz you know you made your mark) I ask myself everyday "who will tell the story of my life" anyone that has been impacted. just a week ago my best friend tried to kill herself because she thought no one cared. i changed her mind cuz she didnt know i was in love with her the four years ive known her... so the moral of the song is you are important to someone. you just have to speak up and make a difference

3TOP RATED
#3 top rated interpretation:I think it means that in the end of your life you shouldnt be afraid to die. "who will tell the story of your life" means make a difference make, a mark on the world, show what are made of, so when you are gone people will be talking about what you did for the world. Rise back up from your fall. Be happy for what you have. Make your life worth living.
-
Andy himself said in an interview that this song is about his i believe great grandfather fighting and dying in the war and his courageous acts.
-
In the end don't be afraid to die cause you have made your mark and people will remember you.

Chorus 1/2:
The main message, the question "in the end as you fade into the night, who will tell the story of your life?" Is a double-meaning. It is a reference to celtic beliefs that there is no heaven. Instead, you live on in the legacy you made yourself; the mark you made in the world, the good or bad name you make for yourself, it is the people you affect who tell your life story.
Verse 1-2
Verse 1 asks once our soul, our consciousness, takes it last rest, what is there left? Are we able to live in heaven, or our legacy, or are we just dead, an empty husk cask back to earth? Verse 2 speaks of the desire to relive the glory of our lives, wether in heaven or our life-story to be immortal.
Chorus 2/2:
The other half of the chorus speaks of mobility & honor to those who under Celtic beliefs have eternal life in their legacy. Similar to Beowulf accepting death, those who have forged a gallant & righteous tale of their life has no reason to fear death.
Verse 3-4:
This verse speaks of a philosophical belief. Unlike some christians who believe all are born under the 1st great sin of man (when Kain murdered his brother) other theological/philosophical beliefs see us born as pure innocence, sinless or "saintly". And the next part says though we sin and do evil to the world, we desire to see ourselves as good or righteous people even if we are not. Verse 4 says that who we are is not just our personality, behavior, and the physical body we inhabit, but the people we affect, ideas we spread, as the main message of the song states our legacy. And even if we perish with no afterlife to live in, we will live on under the Celtic idea of immortality through our legacy
So the overall message is simple...even if there is no heaven, no afterlife, no spirit to exist outside your earthly shell, you will still live through not just your life story but by your mark on history & by your influence on both the people you affect and by the people THEY affect. -
This song is about his Grandfather. Andy actually wrote this song a year after he died. "I was going through the death of my grandfather at the time. I was very close to him and he was someone I grew up with, both of my parents worked full time. Every day I would go to his house after school and he formed me into the man that I became." The song is about Andy Beirsack's view of heaven of "If nothing else, heaven is the legacy for the people around you. If there is a Heaven that's wonderful but you can't deny that those people telling the story after you've lived it they are the ones creating that afterlife, that legacy that you were someone of important someone of substance

The lyrics in the song make me believe that it is about not worrying so much about death and dying. As you fade/die, who will tell about your life? which in my mind is asking who the hell is going to talk about you once you're dead, making you think long and hard about what you want to be remembered for and what you want people to say about you.

I think it's saying hey ur important ur wonderful and amazing just who u are don't listen to others be u and u are an awesome u I'm not gonna lie I tried killing myself but I had someone who loves me there that stopped me I was gonna do it but he loves me and I know now I'm important u are to always know it
BVB ARMY LIVES FOREVER -
I feel this song is about living your life to it's fullest no matter what. And as another has said doing something meaningful with your life. "Born a saint" We all are born as saints clean & pure, and some of us may sin later on in our lifetime. "Though with every sin I still wanna be holy" However most come a to a changing point in life to move away from old sins, unconsciously or consciously making an attempt to make up for past sins or staying away from them. Not as in an attempt to reach heaven (for those that believe in it), but to be remembered for one's good deeds & times in life & Being able to move on from this life without regret or sorrow of things left undone and leaving your mark on the world. As mortals we will all die at some time, but our legacies will live on through our friends, family, acquaintances & history. All the people you have left an impression on, what story will they tell of your life?

I think this song is a powerful and sometimes emotional song I think it means to not take life for granted. Someone I know tried to kill themselves and I helped them get through with their issues and I helped them not to commit suicide. Hailey (A PART OF THE BVB ARMY)

This song is saying that you should never give up in life, and to live life to it's fullest. It's saying that if you give up, that's how you will be remembered, and you'll have regrets about giving up. Don't give up, Live life to it's fullest, So that when you die, you have no regrets.
-
This song is about living life to the fullest, so that you don't have any regrets when it's your time to die.
-
Live your life don't let others tell you how!
-
I agree with everyone above. It is about living your life the way you want to. Nobody should stop you from pursuing your dreams. Even if your dream is to become a tattoo artist, or a singer, or a movie director. Just keep pursuing your dreams, make a name for yourself, and live YOUR life the way YOU want to. Have no regrets, and don't be afraid when it is your time to die.
-
My interpretation of the lyrics is that they are about not giving up and self expression "who will remember your last goodbye" meaning who will care enough to remember you.
-
I think it is about living your life to the fullest and not being afraid to die. The line "Who will tell the story of your life?" is saying that when you pass away, you will have someone to tell your story because you made something out of your life and did something for the world. It's like a song for motivation. Motivating you to be happy and live your life the way you want without having to be afraid of death.
Bvb Army for life!❤️ -
