Breaking Benjamin: Breakdown Meaning
Breakdown Lyrics
Let the fun and games begin
She is vain and broken in
Skin is cold and white
Such a lovely lonely night
Heaven is on the way
You can feel the hate
but I guess you never will
I'm on a roll again
and I want an end
'cause I...
-
Dang. So in this song, I think he's in love with a girl who is a flirt or malt or something.
"This is not a free for all"
That's like saying the other guy or guys need to back off and leave his girl alone.
"I'll be there for you until my heart is black and blue"
I think that's like saying it's hurting him to know other guys want her and maybe she likes someone else and it's tearing him apart but he'll still be there for her. He loves her too much to walk away so he puts up with it.
I don't know. I think it's a pretty dark themed song.
"Let the fun and games begin. She is spayed and broken in. Skin is cold and white.such a lovely lonely night." -
I think this song is about him hearing his girlfriend cheating on him. "What's that sound?" he says this with a scared sound.. almost like panic is in his voice. "You're so loud" he hears her making love. "I'm headed for a breakdown." this could mean he's going to snap. "Drink up all my alcohol. This is not a free for all. I'll be there for you. Until my heart is black and blue." She's causing him so much pain. He's drinking and he's a mess. In spite of what she's done, he tells her he'll be there for her. "Let the fun and games begin. She is spayed and broken in." He's losing it and about to go psycho. "Skin is cold and white. Such a lovely lonely night." I think he's been watching her. "Heaven is on the way. You can feel the hate. I'm on a roll again. And I want an end." I think he wants to physically hurt her for what she's done. He wants it to end. He might be fantasizing about killing her. In this song, he's completely lot it, but he loves her... at the same time he hates what she's done.

Seems to me that Ben knew that someone that he wanted to enter a relationship with was with another guy who was hurting her?
-
"Let the fun and games begin
She is vain and broken in
Skin is cold and white
Such a lovely lonely night"
The other part:
"Heaven is on the way
You can feel the hate
but I guess you never will
I'm on a roll again
and I want an end
'cause I feel it creeping in"
She is vain and brken in? Skin is cold and white? Heaven is on the way? you can feel the hate but I guess you never will? I want an end? It sounds like he freakin MURDERED The girl!!! -
It sounds like someone when insane for a day or two and possibly beat some chick up.
At least, that is one explaination of the first verse:
"Let the fun and games begin
She is vain and broken in
Skin is cold and white
Such a lovely lonely night"
The other part:
"Heaven is on the way
You can feel the hate
but I guess you never will
I'm on a roll again
and I want an end
'cause I feel it creeping in
What I found in this town
I'm heading for a breakdown
What's that sound, it's so loud
I'm heading for a breakdown
NO!
Drank up all my alcohol
This is not a free for all
I'll be there for you
'till my heart is black and blue"
pretty much refers to the fact of insanity and losing control. -
It's about just losing yourself, and "Breaking down."
Drank up all my alcohol
This is not a free for all
I'll be there for you
'till my heart is black and blue
This is clearly a reference to Ben's struggle with coping with his illnes and using it too cope with a loss of someone. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
