I think its about him getting older. Fast I fade away. It's been a while since he seen this woman so he wonders when he will see her face again. I could be wrong but this song makes me sad

I think it means that he feels like no one can see him "fast I fade away" and he's completely alone. I'm not sure about other people but when I get depressed I feel broken and alone and like nothing will ever get better. You feel like no one cares about you. I think that's how he's portraying himself in this song
