Breaking Benjamin: What Lies Beneath Meaning
What Lies Beneath Lyrics
Hold it in
Start a fight
You won't win
Had enough
Let's begin
Nevermind
I don't care
All in all
You're no good
You don't cry
Like you should
Let it go
If you could
When love dies in the end
So I'll find what lies...

Jaded doesn't mean satisfied of exhausted. The definition is...
adjective
tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of somethin
I lean towards lacking enthusiasm since the chorus mentions cold, jaded eyes. No emotional response. -
The dude who thinks jaded means satisfied, must be illiterate.
tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, typically after having had too much of something. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

It's about a girl who he was with. There's something wrong with her because she doesn't feel emotions like a normal person does. He tells her she's no good because she doesn't cry like she should. She's basically numb to her emotional side. He wants to find what lies beneath her "sick twisted smile and cold jaded eyes." Whether she is putting on a face for everyone and pretending to be happy, or is so jaded she doesn't care and allows herself to be happy because she feels nothing, he sort of wants to know how she can even smile. He will always love her and be there for her for the rest of his life, but she's turned the tide on him and made him feel like she was the victim. He just wants to know what's wrong with her and what made her that way. He goes on to call her the devil in disguise. He's addicted to her love in a way and can't break free from it, even if it is bad for him.

This song screams of life and love with a narcissist.

Here's what i think
This isn't about a girl or a relation ship it's about being hated by everyone and one person in paticular he's also saying that the hate won't destroy him and he'll end up stronger, "start a fight you won't win" i always thought that find was fight until i read the lyrics but find makes sense, he's trying to figure out why this person or everyone hates him. At the same time although he won't let himself be destroyed by the hate he feels trapped and watched by it "as i lie underneath your cold dead eyes" -
This is completely MY OPINION.
It's about a relationship. The guy loves the girl, but the girl is constantly putting the guy in a situation that leaves the guy a total wreck, but there's really nothing the guy could do 'cause he loves the girl. The day comes the guy grows a pair and leaves the girl. Moral: Everybody gets what they deserve. -
To some extent the above meaning might be right but to add something more.i'd say the guy is not in a relationship, the girl might have betrayed him, leaving him in complete mess,nd the words of pain nd misery are depicted in the song
-
I agree with the person above, but I think the woman is purposly making him miserable. "As I lie underneath your cold jaded eyes." Jaded can either mean exhausted or fully satisfied. To me, the only reason for her to be exhausted is from making him miserable, or she's passed on. And he's waiting for her to come back. Or making him miserable satisfies her.

To me this song is about a man who is with someone that after time they have drifted apart. She has become so mean and painful to him. He knows this, and wants to leave the relationship, but everytime he tries to reveal to her how unhappy he is she starts a fight with him and makes him feel guilty about it. Even though he is in the right and deserves alot better she "turns the tide" on him and makes him feel bad for everything and makes herself into the the victim. So now, he is basically trapped forever in a loveless relationship that he never can escape. He will always be there for the rest of his life...
