Creed: Six Feet From the Edge Meaning
Six Feet From the Edge Lyrics
I'm holding on to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me...

you all are all wrong. yes he's talking about committing suicide and he's talking to god. but he also says "kuz i still believe there's something left for you and me.." he's just been left or dumped. and he's saying he doesn't want to go on if she's not there anymore. like maybe death isn't so bad. "maybe six feet ain't so far down". he's angry and he's tlking to god, like take me now, it's not so bad, and it's probably better than this. my interpretation.

i can relate to this song so my interpretation is that he left his girlfriend or she left him. And he realizes he needs her and if she wont be with him he will either die of grief or suicide. And he feels suicide is the best option, but after his damage is done he realizes that he can still get her back and is praying for a second chance at life and hopes that she comes back for him while he is lying there dieing. And when she doesn't come he knows she doesn't care and in the end he just wants to lay there and die.

The song obviously has to do with god, because in poetry, poets can change capitalization and such to make things more obvious. This is capitalized to mean god in the first paragraph. Obviously, this song is related to some sort of higher power.
-
I think he song has to do with someone slowly going crazy-meaning there is something wrong and they realize it and they want it stop. 6 ft from the edge obviously refers to an edge, the edge could be he point of no return and once you have passed you have completely lost your mind and there is no going back to the way things were before. Btw it is called one last breath, not 6 feet from the edge.
-
It's called "one last breath" you's aren't true Creed fans to even know it look the name up in the greatest hits album...dumbasses
-
I think this song is about a man that has lost everything and the best idea is to give up "I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking That maybe six feet Ain't so far down". He has called for help from God but he doesn't feel that anyone is listing and with one last breath he has a lot to say and all he wants is for someone to listen.
He has also recently broken up with his girlfriend "'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me" but he also just wants to give up. -
But this song is actually called ONE LAST BREATH not six feet from the edge. basically about someone about to committ suicide and thinking about it coz he doent know what to do and calling help as well
-
The real meaning is most definitely about how he's had it up to "here" with being 6 ft tall. and he just can't stand it anymore. Because people make fun of him. He thinks about it, it's really he's not that far and it's not so bad being 6 ft tall and in fact its the average male height.
"Maybe 6ft ain't so far down." and in the beginning when he's talking about falling because 6ft tall people fall harder and he's also more likely to be struck by lighting thus when he sings about thunder. So conclusively he is about AGING. He is scared to get older thus he mentions his height because as you get older you get smaller. -
The song is about a man who is dying and he is trying to stay alive "holding onto all I think is safe".
But with his last breath "one last breath(the real name of the song)" he holds on and remembers what he loved about life.
It also says that he was going nowhere and is trying to escape. Then in the second verse its more detailed "now that it's over". His life is flashing before his eyes.
Then in the last part of the song he thinks he can go on "but I still believe there's something there for me" but he is down to his last breath. -
The song is about life is too short to let pass by. "Maybe six feet ain't so far down". Death can come at any moment from a simple accident and such so its no use being paranoid. :Live life to the fullest

Seems like its just about how he's near the brink of death or suicide and it doesn't seem that bad or scary.
-
"I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking, maybe six feet aint so far down."
This song, I think, is about commiting suicide by probably jumping off a building. (6 feet from the edge)
"Maybe 6 feet aint so far down" meaning that when you are buried, 6 feet deep. The guy is looking at it like maybe death aint so bad.
I dunno-- that's my interpretation
