Death Cab For Cutie: Meet Me on the Equinox Meaning
Song Released: 2009
Meet Me on the Equinox Lyrics
Meet me halfway
The sun is perched at its highest peak
In the middle of the day
Let me give my love to you
Let me take your hand
As we walk in the dimming light
Oh, darling understand
That everything, everything...

I think he's talking about meeting him when one season ends and another begins; telling her to fall in love if she must but be careful. Not all relationships last. You can try and try again, make up and break up three or a thousand times, but in the end it's all nothing, because some day you'll just move on and the previous relationship will be forgotten. I understand this point because it is so EASY to try and hang on to love, but once love lets you go, you're walking a tightrope of denial. Also, "everything ends" could be taking an atheist's point of view, saying that in the end you die and all your unshared thoughts, feelings, and actions are gone, dead, and worthless.
