For the Love of a Daughter Lyrics

Four years old with my back to the door
All I could hear was the family war
Your selfish hands always expecting more
Am I your child or just a charity award?

You have a hollowed out heart
But it's heavy in your chest
I try so hard to...

I am abused everyday of my life i have bruses all over me. My mon left me and my two brothers when i was only three. My two brothers where one and the other was only five months old. When i was four my dad started to drink. When i was fiv in a half he started to beet me. I am thirteen almost fourteen. Demi Lovato is the one that keeps me goin. She is why i am still hear. Every time after i get beat i turn Demi Lovato's music on. She is my role model. She will be my role model forever. Not only do i get beet but i get bullied at school. I cut my wrist's, arm's, thigh's, and hip's. Demi Lovato is my life savor!!This song is very sad and unfortunately I can relate to it. I have my dad but I don't. Although him and my mom are together their not. My dad prefers to go drinking with his friends than to be home here with his family. He doesn't consider us family. My parents are always fighting. I feel like he doesn't love us and most of the time drinks. He says he's working but I doubt that. I keep thinking that maybe he will change but then I realize I'm chasing a dream that will never happen

My dad left me when I was one week old. And now I'm 14. My mom never talks about him she is always quiet. My dad took my big brother with him when he was only 11 and I guess he raised him wrong because he was in jail. I have never met, seen, or talked to my dad before. My dad kept drinking and drinking he got in a car crash and lost both of his legs. Now he is in the crazy hospitol for men. Every night I cry in my sleep all because of this whole thing. :(

I love this song because it relates to my abuse. It wasn't my dad, and he didn't drink or hit me, but it was my older brother, who was supposed to be the guy who takes care of you, but her sexually abused me instead. Love to you all!

this is why I love Demi. she expresses herself in her music. she's always letting us see the troubles she has or had to go through. Demi is so much stronger than most people think. she's such a huge inspiration to so many people, including me. I'm glad she's doing better now & I hope she never changes herself beacuse she's really amazing.

I think this song is really sad. But it kind of shows me and my dads realationship, but not completely. He loves me and he buys me nice things and never steals my money. But he does do other things. He drinks, smokes, and when him and my mom divorced and she got together with someone else he stole her wedding ring! I never ask him about any of these things. And he never wore his ring when he went to the store or any where just to atract other women. I hate to say this but my dad has to sides. A jerk and a sweet guy. Also, he's went to jail 3 times because he was drinking and driving. Nice dad huh? -10 year-old surviver

Her dad beat her, and her mom, and all her dad wanted from her was her money! He drank in front of her and i bet u anything he hit her with his beer... She is really strong, and im glad he went to rehab for her personal issues... I hope her dad can relize what an ass hes made of himself.. I hope he could "put the bottle down, for the love of his daughter"

Omg I love this song! No wonder she's had it rough, being indepresion and having to go to rehab, because of what her dad did... It had effected her and I am glad that she wrote this song because if her dad heard it he would realize whatta beep he was being, but then again he is probably still to this moment drunk or on a hangover

This song is a song about her childhood and her splochy relationship with her dad.
Her dad WAS an abusive alcoholic. she had to watch as he beat her mom and over-drank, as her parents fought, and as her family fell to bits. And he also beat her up for money she got from acting and singing, he also used to hit her with a wine glass bottle. (Bless her, she's really strong) :(
