On the night that they first decided
It was blinding with snow
On the night that they ran away

It's about a story of a girl who ran away with a young man that her parents didn't like that was into drugs and got her into drugs. Their car broke down in the middle of a blizard so she called her parents with a low cell phone battery crying to come home, but she didn't know where they were. Her parents was trying to get information of where they were, but the battery died, so they walked and found shelter in an old shed. They were so high that they kept hearing voices out in the distance, so he left to find help thinking it was people outside, but he never came back. When the storm broke the police found him about a hundred and fifty yards from the shed frozen to death and her frozen in the shed. The voices they kept hearing was cattle in the field the police think. Story on the news called them rock and roll children.

This song is about the carelessness of the Rock n Roll era. Children born into a world where love and family values are non existing. Children are thrown out of the home or run away with broken hearts with the sound of slamming door.

Dio's ''Rock N Roll children'' is a song about the abandonment of children that were dropped off on Their own, like fallen angels on the streets, or like in the movies ''the lost boys'' that were trying to survive and protect Themselves from the Old Vampires of this world that don't like Rock and Roll music, but These children of the Knight do, cause that's all They've got to believe in order to feel with hope to be forgiven. And set free forwanting to go back home one day.
