DragonForce: Through the Fire and Flames Meaning
Through the Fire and Flames Lyrics
In flames of death's eternal reign we ride towards the fight
And the darkness is falling down and the times are tough all right
The sound of evil laughter falls around the world...
-
This song, like most of Dragonforce's other songs have to do with the accumulation of the Devil's army of souls in preparation for the final battle. The souls in this song are damned and already know they are so they just cling to their pride and fight anyways, but their reward is freedom in a wasteland of hell where there is silence and loneliness. The forces are congregating in the fourth dimension achieved through detachment of our souls through death, or astral projection. To avoid finding yourself lost in the wasteland, one must seek spirituality by diminshing oneself and becoming meek and poor in spirit. Yes, in all of their songs, they are the warriors of the Dragon.. the force of Evil.. and seek to spread their message through these cryptic lyrics... so that when you die, you will be confused and decieved into joining the side of the Dragon who inhabits the astral realm.

@Pristiq
Your interpretation struck me as belonging to "Where Dragons Rule," also by DragonForce, Album Valley of the Damned, Japan-Only Version. (Why do the Japanese always get the extra DF songs???) -
anonymous from february 6, 2010 - get your facts straight before you list a bunch of (incorrect) guesses and prejudices.
* herman li is chinese (from hong kong), not japanese and he speaks cantonese, english and french fluently
* although all band members are credited as songwriters for their albums, singer zp threat and guitarist sam totman were the ones who wrote this song and lyrics
* various band members have said that their music is inspired by fantasy, games, and dungeons and dragons, and they have suggested that this one was inspired by old dungeon crawling video games.
feel free to look up all of these. wikipedia, herman li's blog, and various band interviews are good starting points. -

Come on guys its about fighting satan and the new world order. If you dont know what that is look it up and then listen to this song.
-
Some nerdy viewpoint of some sort of epic battle with swords and dragons.
-
Its about, yes, a fight for what starts relatively small (a battle in a war) but ends up a the battle for the fate of all mankind. Also, the lyrics at the begginings of the lyrics make me think its either what i just described or an epic portrayal of the beggining of WWII, particularly of Pearl Harbor.

I think it's about the Armageddon. . .

The song is about a group of heroes, or a population in general, carrying on after they have been beaten down, repressed, or otherwise been made to feel helpless. They will fight through fire to get to where they want to be. They have a dream of a better life, and will do whatever it takes to achieve that dream. Unfortunately, at the end of the song, we find out it was all talk, and the dreamers are stuck inside their own minds and fantasies, unable to escape neither their miserable lives nor their fantasies.

Reminds me of paradise lost
-
It sounds to me as though the song is from the perspective of warriors who are freeing all the world from the clutches of Hell. Eventually the fight ends up in Hell but the good guys end up winning. Listen with that in mind- it makes a huge ammount of sence.

This song is about how the little kids talk smack saying "I can do this song on Guitar Hero 3...ON EXPERT!"
