Drake: Too Much Meaning
Song Released: 2013
Too Much Lyrics
There's no need for us to rush it through
Don't think about it too much, too much, too much, too much
This is more than just a new lust for you
[Verse 1: Drake]
Done saying, I'm...
-
A couple things are going on - Drake is mainly talking about how his fame and money have changed the dynamics in his family (they don't get together for dinners or holidays anymore), he's also talking about his uncle and mom battling depression. Sounds like his Mom is severely depressed (she "won't even get dressed go to do shit and that's true shit") and his uncle had a bucket list but has given up on it - sounds like he's battling depression on a lower level.
Depression doesn't care how much money you have, how famous you are, how many kids you have, whether you're single or married, etc... It's the worst 'disease' on the planet and many people suffer from it. This song is about 5 years old - hopefully his Mom [and uncle] are doing better now. -
Drake is referring to how fame and money conflicted his family due to his career. Being rich in fame divided his personal relationship with his whole family due to money. He feels so hurt by fame and wants to make time for his family. He is depressed so much that he is trying not to over think things too much.

Don't stay on stuff you can't control, IE a breakup

song of drake too much , i would say would mean something like don't think about your relationship with someone . don't ever over think it . it can hurt you really bad . it is not a good thing to over think . you will get hurt . just take things slow . it would be better .
-
He's basically saying that you shouldn't think about life too much because over-thinking is dangerous. Although, in the first verse he explains his lifestyle and talking about his career, his rise and fall in his view. The second verse, the effect of his lifestyle and career on his family as they fell the pecking order because of the fame and money. He actually talks about how he hate that the fame and money effects his relationship with his family and that he actually thought about retiring because it's effecting him negatively.
In Short, this song has a big meaning behind it and one of the greatest songs that drake ever wrote.
REAL AS IT GETS. -
He's thanking his mother and uncle for staying with him through thick and thin.
