Drake: Over My Dead Body Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Over My Dead Body Lyrics
Cause you know I’m okay
Instead, I ask myself “why do you worry?”
When you know, you know I’m the same
You know, I know you don't love me, baby
They're trying to take you away from me
Only over my dead body…
-
It’s a song about not caring what people think about you anymore… you know you’re going to be okay. No matter if people doubt you, if you thought lovers were going to stay, you will be okay. Nothing really matters in the end.
-
From what my understanding is the speaker feels that he not loved nor appreciated by the woman she loves him but not as much as portrays because of the things they both do to each other
-
To me, the opening sounds like someone is very sad, maybe even depressed; saying how they're feeling does not matter as if they feel like they're not important. They ask themselves why does this person worry about me, the person they are referring to could be an ex, or someone that the speaker loves but they don't love the speaker back. But in the end the person will always love them no matter what happens despite the other person not reciprocating the love.

I feel like this song has alot of meaning to it. I feel like basically even though you might or might not matter to this person no matter what they still got love for you and no one or nothing can change what your feeling deep inside.
-
I feel like this song means kind of what was said before that you want to be with that special someone or was already with that special someone and things just went down hill between him/her,and you can't help it but to still have INTENSE love ❤ for him/her...like you just can't let go and won't get each other out of your mind.
-
i feel like it means that even though you may not be with someone you want to end up with them in the long run. although you feel like you need them, you need to realize that even though they are far away from where you want them to be, no one can take them away from your mind, your heart, and your feelings.
