   I think it's about friends "shall we keep it between friends" and the two had a moment of romance after drinking but it couldn't go on and he feels perhapse there is a chance of it happening again if he keeps drinking however deep down he knows it in vain

   I think it means that him and this girl once had a stable relationship but he started drinking and now they're kinda friends with benefits cause she leaves him every evening and she doesn't love him anymore so he gets drunk so he tricks his mind to think she really loves him. And he regrets it because all he really wants is for her to love him again.

   Have you guys even heard the lyrics? He's talking about a drug addiction. "I'll watch you fizzle at the bottom of a coke can", "I've got no plans for the weekend, so should we speak then, keep it between friends", "burns don't heal like before", "there may be other people like us, will see the flicker of the clipper when they light our flames". Also should be taken in context with his other songs and his knowledge of drugs.

   I think it is about a person, who has lost something thet really love, so that's why they get drunk. Because they want to try to forget about it. Pretending they have forgotten about it, but deep down, they still really love them. Well, that's what I think anyway. :)

   An alcoholic that can't stop drinking and she does everything to make him stop and threatens to leave if he doesn't change. He drinks so he can pretend they're back in love and avoid the truth but he knows deep down that its not the reality.
