    if you watch the itunes festival 2012 you will hear him tell this story:

    his god parents are his dads best friends and have been for a really long time. they both got married and then divorced to their respective partners, helping eachother though both heartbrakes. one night, his mom had a birthday party, everyone got really drunk, and then on the subway ride home, his god father proposed to his godmother. after 40 years of being best friends they realized they loved eachother. he wrote this song for their wedding.

    this song was made for his godparents they asked him to sing at there wedding they didnt feel like any of his love songs where for them so they asked if he could make them a song
    this is also the reason he left the snow patrol tour cause he sang at there wedding

    It's about wanting to have a life and to have someone to call his own. He says that he wants someone to settle down with. Although his song was written for his godparents it can still be brought through to situations these days also.
