I think this is one of ed best songs. with my point of view I think this song is about how he is much different than other people. He talks about having a guitar and that being able to sing is his calling. While people are going through life and get caught up things such as politics, religion and money. Ed is taking life slow and care free. he talks about how people "trying to fit in their jeans" that they are trying to be something their not or taking life to seriously and not seeing the beauty of it. Which is what Ed wants to show people that life is more then just work money. that love and positive life style can make life better for everyone
