Five Finger Death Punch: Bad Company Meaning

Album cover for Bad Company album cover

Song Released: 2010

Bad Company Lyrics

A company
Always on the run
A destiny
It's the rising sun
I was born
A shotgun in my hands
Behind the gun
I'll make my final stand

And that's why they call me
Bad Company
I can't deny
Bad Bad Company till the day I die
Until the day...

It is about someone that believes they are “bad company” because they will always fight to the fullest they can and that they say “ we all gotta die” means that they aren’t afraid to die because everyone will die in the end anyway

I think the song is about how the singer (and probably the band itself) has a philosophy in life that everyone seems threatened by, which I think is what is meant by, "I was born a shotgun in my hands." He doesn't care that his thoughts of life are different because he says, "Behind the gun I'll make my final stand" so he's willing to die in what he believes in, regardless that everyone hates him for it. So because people think of his philosophy as threatening, everyone calls them bad company, they're "bad people." The bridge part pretty much explains their philosophy of an eye for an eye and all that stuff. Yeah, that's about it.

I think of Bad Company shows that a soldier's point of view of things whenever determination could lead good or bad about what has war must offer.

I thinking, they were with second battalion of the Old Guard. While in Iraq or Afghanistan.
They did some training with them in how to use and maintain weapon systems.

The original song is about Southerners after the civil war and how they are treated and percieved by the rest of america.

I think this song, at least version. Is about someone acknowledging that they're presence is usually a very bad thing. And they don't care and they don't change and this is who they are. They've become the renegade(s). They make..well bad company. And for whatever reason, they wont change and well it just means they're bad company til they die. I might not have worded this the best. But that's my take
