Gorillaz: To Binge Meaning
To Binge Lyrics
Passin' by the hills 'til I hear the name
I'm looking for a saw to cut these chains in half and all I want is
Someone to rely on as
Thunder comes a rolling down
Someone to rely on as
Lightning comes a...

#1 top rated interpretation:I just want to say, Murdoc wrote this song, NOT 2D.
2D just sang it for him, and that's all.
Anyway, it's about two people being in love, but the relationship isn't stable anymore.
THEY'RE not very stable.
This song is a duet, so the story is told in both views.
Both are lost. Both made mistakes.
Both are suffering.
Both of them are suffering in different ways.
It's about being with someone, but not really BEING with them.
They're too far gone, too intoxicated and too drugged up.
One of them needs desperate help. But the other isn't sure how to help them.
They have problems, and being with them is giving the other problems.
One loves the other so much, but sometimes they wonder if the other truly loves them as well.
Well, of course they do... But... Maybe they love the drugs and the drinks more...
It nags at them, drives them insane.
They don't know what to do.
Begging for forgiveness, wanting to start over, wanting it all to be ok again.
But it's not.
Perhaps it never will be.
They don't know what to do. -
I feel like this song, whether it be really 2D or not, is about a girl who, well, binges on drugs and/or alcohol (i'm leaning on the latter since the visual depicts alcohol going down the drain), and her boyfriend is nothing but an enabler, but still somewhat feels bad about what's going on, but doesn't have the guts to try and help her.

This song is about the lead singer 2D and his ex girlfriend paula cracker. 2D wrote it a long time ago with the same chords but he never produced it and instead hide the music then murdoc got a hold of it when they were recording Plastic beach an then 2D was forced to play it, but the songs about how much he loved paula but she just broke his heart
