A man who first cautious of a woman that could be be a trap or too good to be true ("is everything a baited hook" and "are there locks on all doors"). Who also decides to date to see if they have good chemistry ("try each other on to see if we fit") . In the end he finds out that she (the southern girl), is "an exception to the rule", to his aforementioned paranoia ("baited hook" and "locked doors").
