James Blunt: Always Hate Me Meaning
Always Hate Me Lyrics
The moment that I saw you
With someone else
The one that you belong to
I never thought
I'd drown in my shallow heart
I'd like to say
The things I never used to
But come today they wont ever be useful
I never learn t to...

A lot of people are saying that this song is about a toxic, manipulative man who is abandoned by the girl that loved him after she couldn't take any more of his manipulation and mistreatment. They think of him as bad and I agree with this to some extent. Yes, he did wrong things and caused a lot of suffering for the only person that loved him, but we also have to take into account that this person is damaged and when you haven't been loved by anyone in your life it is really hard to process and understand everything that comes with a relationship and that can lead to the person doing some cruel things in order to protect themselves from this foreign emotion. They may not want to hurt the other person, yet their brain has experienced so many horrible situations that they cannot imagine a world where they can actually be happy so they repel anything that does them good. However, this doesn't mean the actions they did are justified in any way. They still did something wrong and the person who has been mistreated by them doesn't have to and shouldn't go back to them.

SELFISH FEELING OF HURT - (BETTER OFF IGNORING SUCH A PERSON.)
POSSIBLY, all about an emotionally damaged, manipulative, abusive type of man feeling hurt just because a woman who once truly loved him (or the good person he could be), realized that he is hurtful and unappreciative of her, and so she moved on happily with her life.
Interestingly, he still can't treat her right - "I never learned to use my shallow heart", and admitted that he would never love her - '... she's never gonna hold my heart'.
Also, '... she will always hate me" is his own judgment on himself - what HE believes he deserves for his ill-treatment of her, and may not even be the woman's view of him (even though she would have stopped him from being able to hurt her anymore).
In fact, she does not even have the time of day for him anymore. After all, she's with the one she belongs to - happy ending for the one who did not forget to also love herself!!!
Just Poetic?
