Killswitch Engage: Always Meaning
Song Released: 2013
Always Lyrics
When the vast skies don't seem to call to you
When the weight of this world bears down
And the stars have fallen like tears
I am with you always,
From the darkness of night until the morning
I am with...

To me, it is about someone struggling with addiction and/or depression, contemplating suicide and reaching out for help. The other person (someone close), tries to understand the pain and is offering unconditional support, love and strength to help get the other through the dark time. I love the chords, lyrics and “feel” of this song. Very deep, full of love and emotion. It’s incredible when a song can make you feel something and touches you deep inside.

It's about loss. Death of someone close. It kills me inside everytime I listen to it...yet it's one of the best songs from Killswitch Engage

My son is far away. He lives on the streets. We love each other. He protects me. He turned me onto this song, saying it was "our song" ive wondered does he have aids? Is he having suicidal issues? I dont know but until he tells me, ill just keep loving him.

I think is Jesus telling someone he will always be there for them. As far as easy is from the west. In remembrance of the house me. Tons of biblical reference.

It's about jesse's late younger brother luke. It's about brotherhood.3

For me, I'm a rape victim. My boyfriend is helping me put the pieces back together so my own interpretation of the song is entirely personal. Rape is very detrimental. I am now and always will suffer from it.
(In these moments of lost in torment
When the vast skies don’t seem to call to you
When the weight of this world press down
And the stars have fallen like tears)
When you're raped, you lose your value. It's constant pain, you isolate yourself from the pressure of now having this on your shoulder. I now get to live with this my entire life. That's it.
(I am with you always
From the darkness of night to the morning
I am with you always
From the life until death takes me)
For me, this means protection. He will always be with me; for me. From the darkness of night [being fear, yes? Are you afraid of the dark?] to the morning.
(Monuments build to remembrance of me
The monuments fade, erode and decay
The memories of all that remains
As far as east is from the west, remember)
For a while, I was stuck in a place of religion that told me I wasn't going to be worth anything to anyone because I was used and damaged. If I wasn't a virgin, I wouldn't be any good. That all fell and faded when his love for me stretched from the east to the west. It's a monument of my past.
(When hope seems lost down and lowly
I am here with you always)
:)
[Also, I'm aware some of the lyrics may be off. Excuse that for me, please. Thank you.] -
the song is basically talking bout the loss of a loved one ( in these moments of loss and torment ) another big clue is (I am with you always , from the darkness of night 'til the morning . I am with you always , from life until death takes me )and the person who is dying or passing away tells their loved ones that they are always gonna be with them , kse has truly done amazing on this song . one of there best and most beautiful in my opinion :)
