Song Released: 2005
Twisted Transistor Lyrics
Listening to your Twisted Transistor
Hold it between your legs
Turn it up, turn it up
The wind is coming through
Can't get enough
A lonely life, where no one understands you
But don't give up,...

I think it's actually referring to both music and masturbation. It doesn't really matter which way you look at it, they both have the same purpose for her: comfort, and understanding.
-
"Put it between your legs turn it up turn it up. The wind is coming through, can't get enough"
This part isn't about a her using a vibrator. It is about her putting the speaker inbetween her legs were the woofer is(the part that blows air) and turning it up to get a organasm. Ever seen how stern the movie :D!! -

I think that it is about masturbation and doing it to make your self feel better and escaping from the world, but this is just me.
-
This is about male to female (mtf) transsexuals.
Transistor sounds like Trans Sister.
Hey you, hey you, Devil's little sister
/ They are sometimes viewed (by the religeous, for example) as an obomination, or an opposition to god.
Listening to your Twisted Transistor
/ Twisting a transistor could cause a short, and change the behaviour of an electronic circuit. It's listening to the urge to be female.
Hold it between your legs
/ Hiding the genitals (known as tucking) to give a female appearance.
Turn it up, turn it up
/ Refers to the increasing changes in behaviour and apearance.
The wind is coming through
/ Refers to the finding of one's true self, it is a force of nature.
Can't get enough
/ The transsexual's increasing desire to transistion.
A lonely life, where no one understands you
/ Rejection (or worse) from family and friends is not uncommon for transsexuals.
But don't give up, because the music do
Music do [x6]
/ a showing of understanding/support
Your scream's a whisper
/ Transexuals often suffer in silence, keeping their secret, for fear of rejection.
Hey you, hey you, finally you get it
The world ain't fair, eat you if you let it
/ The intollerant will do anything to stop them.
And as your tears fall on
Your breast, your dress
/ hiding one's true self causes great sadness.
Vibrations coming through
/ Those that support and understand are reaching out.
You're in a mess
/ Transsexuals often loose their family, friends, employment and more simply because of who they are.
Hey you, hey you, this won't hurt a bit
This won't hurt a bit, this won't hurt
/ A transsexual's transistion is for personal reasons, not to turt anyone.
Says who? Says who?
/ People close to the transsexual often see the transistion as the death of the person that they have known, or as a way of punishment or retaliation.
Anesthetize this bitch
Anesthetize this bitch, anesthetize!
/ The voice of a surgeon. Surgery is often viewed as the final stage of transistion.
Just let me be
/ The will of the transsexual.
Between you and me don't fit
/ The voice of those that are not accepting of the transsexual. -
Hey I do think it's about vibrators. The lyrics are very suggestive of this.
"hold it between your legs
turn it up, turn it up"
"inside you forever preaching"
"your scream's a whisper"
"vibrations coming through
you're in a mess"
etc etc. I really like the line "your scream's a whisper". Well.. when you r like masturbating, inside of your head you will be screaming away. But then since its such a personal thing, you just let it out as a whisper.
however, I don't think that's all. I believe the band meant to use the vibrator as a symbol of self-indulgence, like the music we listen to when we are sad, angry, happy etc etc.
The vibrator say to the girl,
"hey you, hey you, this won't hurt a bit
this won't hurt a bit, this won't hurt
says who? says who?
anesthetize this bitch
anesthetize this bitch, anesthetize!
just let me be
between you and them things"
On the other hand, maybe the humming of the vibrator is seen as a "music" of sort, albeit a sinful one.
Lol, maybe I'm dead wrong. Just my opinion. -
I think it maens not to give up on life.
"a lonely life where no one understands you,
but don't give up" -

To the person above the part you didn't understand was where he was talking about how she was gettin so caught up in the music that she was hurting herself and he was saying that she needed to be sedated so that she didn't hurt herself and get to caught up with everything.
