Linkin Park: Lost in the Echo Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Lost in the Echo Lyrics
(yeah) (yo)
You were that foundation
Never gonna be another one, no.
I followed, so taken
so conditioned I could never let go
Then sorrow, then sickness
then the shock when you flip it on me
So hollow, so vicious
so afraid I...
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
i think this song is about sadness, despiar , and loss. in the video each person has a photograph of a person that they would like to see again remember or forget, it depends on how the song is interpreted its about
redemption also and it also uses some very
good imagery lost in the echo, outherwise saying the person is forever in there memory -
I think song is from the dead side, all the people collecting photos are dead.
the person gives them photos of their loved once to see them for last time, and let them go..... -
In my interpretation I beleive that this song is about how the devil feeds you all this wonderful things and tells you that everything will be great as the lyrics "You were that foundation never gonna be another one no I followed so taken so condiotioned I could never let go"comes from and once he ties you in a perfect tight not is when he brings you down because he knows he finally got you.Cause he promised all these great things and everyone went along until the realized they were all lies. That's where the lyrics "And these promises broken deep below each word gets lost in the echo"so finally they can see through all the lies so the can finally let him go
-
I think this song, if related to the (non-interactive) video, is about letting go of your ghosts, the loved ones you've lost and the empty comfort they give; and you will meet them... after you've died too.
-
I agree with the first person's observations. It's about a difficult and painful break-up that someone has to get through. A bad relationship that they still want to go through with, but after realising that it's bad, having to let go.
"Check the rep. Yep, you know mine well."
It's like telling a hurtful person that they've hurt you, being up-front and honest - assuming that 'rep' here is short for 'reputation'?
"With these promises broken deep below..."
Like someone appeared to follow their promise but got cold feet or broke the promise either over and over again or once in a very hopeful situation which woud have hurt the other deeply. -
i think that it is about a loved person who is gone. that you are stuck in the past and you wont move on so you get a picture of that person and become sad when you see it. but you have to learn to move on so you can finally leave.
-
This is my view: It's basically about promises that cannot be kept. The images represent someone who they once were, but that is over now and they're someone entirely different than what is seen in the picture. One side is happy in pictures, but in reality they really aren't that way. Than at the end the other person crumbles to dust with a sad or angry look on their face placing those images in the suitcase. Bottom line I think it's about a break up, one will feel sorrow, the other being happy. The sorrow person should follow the way to happiness they want and move on to the next place or area.. the place where they belong? I take it this is actually part of Linkin Park's "Somewhere I belong".

This video/song could mean many things. A break up between a couple. Putting the past memories away and this quote may have to do with part of it, "Once your old interests fade, you always have new interests available to you." Sometimes you have to forget the past and start the future ahead of you. This also means that maybe you should just put your past in a box and lock it away, drag it with you, but keep it tucked away, move on. At the end the building was breaking apart, but the guy was moving onto something new and perhaps trying to fix it?
-
Its a little sad that the obvious is not seen. It is about the current situation of our species. Government lies and corruption which was gotten away with in the past, eg Vietnam war, now the Iraq war, 9.11, false economies, how it is all becoming transparent to those strong enough to see true reality. This also lines up with religious lies, as governments and religion function together.
And ultimately this builds tremendous energy within us as we seek the truth, "the truth will set you free" when we find the truth which resides within us we gain the strength to evolve past the "human condition".
Love it
What do you think the prophecy of 2012 is all about? -
it is in regards to the promises and failures of Barrack Obama.....
-
This song is about following something you thought was great and later realize it's a vicious thing which freaks you out and you get afraid of it.
Then you overcome it and face that evil. You start seeing the deception this evil has done to you and you learn to let go of it finally "one last lie, I can see through, this time I finally let you go"
in the latter part of the song, he emphasizes that he's not going to bow down or be a slave to this evil. That he's gona stand up strong to it.......... -
I think the best thing to do would be to figure out why it was written from the writers, because then we will actually know what it was meant to mean :|
-
This song, to me, was letting go of people who has passed away in your life you dearly treasure. (If you relate it to the video)
-
