Orange Juice Lyrics

Oh, oh, stick it down your throat
I'm watching from the bathroom
Making sure I don't choke, choke
From the words you spoke
When you're screaming at the mirror
Now you're sitting in the cafeteria
Shoving clementines and orange bacteria
Down...

Orange juice is supposed to represent a eating disorder, called Bulimia. Bulimia causes somebody to regurgitate (throw up) food that they eat so that they do not gain the weight from it, This song is representing that from turning oranges into orange juice, hence the lyric: “You turn oranges to orange juice” This song was used in K-12, where Crybaby’s classmate suffers from bulimia and Crybaby tries to make her see that it’s wrong, hence the lyric: “I wish I could give you my set of eyes, cause’ I know your eyes ain’t working”

this song represents the eating disorder, bulimia.(mostly the purging type) in the song crybaby finds a girl(Fleur)in the bathroom with another girl(Kelly) standing next to her forcing her to vomit her food up. the lyrics "you turn oranges to orange juice" refers to the acidic taste of vomit, in comparison to the acidic taste of oranges. oranges are also a low calorie food that can be eaten to loose weight. the girl in the video can be seen admiring skinny girls in a magazine and weighing herself. the lyrics "enter there and spit it out of you. your body is imperfectly perfect, everyone wants what the other ones working" shows how (most)people suffering with bulimia purge after eating in order to look slimmer and be "prettier". ( this is all spoken from experiance, hope it helps you understand the song better!)

The song addresses eating disorders, specifically bulimia. She talks about wanting to be more attractive by being skinnier.
The use of oranges in the song can be contributed to the fact that vomit can taste similar to orange juice due to acidity.

Here, Melanie Martinez sings about an eating disorder, specifically Bulimia Nervosa; the purging type. Bulimia Nervosa is an eating disorder where a person self induces vomit after consuming food to make them lose the calories after eating, typically used to lose weight. Melanie Martinez represents this with oranges, showing how bulimics turn food into liquid (vomit), just like how you can turn oranges into orange juice.

The character Fleur (played by Zión Moreno) was most likely forced into bulimia because of Kelly's posse and possibly Kelly (played by Maggie Budzyna) herself, as it is shown in the music video with Kelly assisting Fleur with purging. The lyrics, "Oh, oh, I believe you chose to blow it on the reading carpet, that's what happens when you're starving." Implies that bulimia in general has major drawbacks, like feeling light headed, brain fogs, and maybe even getting a bit confused at times. For struggling teens or tweens, it could cause a problem with school and grades. Then, the lyrics "Please say that you won't continue, ordering oranges off the menu." Isn't really directing her to not order oranges, but in general asking her to please not continue binging and purging.

In the end of the music video, it shows Crybaby climbing a ladder, then swooshing Kelly away from her putting more oranges in Fleur's head, meaning something I can't quite get to this day.

In conclusion, the meaning of Melanie's supportive song 'Orange Juice' is bulimia. This probably isn't specifically towards Fleur, but more towards any listeners struggling with an eating disorder.

(i love love this song so much like i struggled w/ an ed at 10 bcs i was put with so much expectations and stuff, but once i gave this song a listen it helped me recover so much<3 ive been listening to melanie since 2017 and this song has been my favourite of k12. i also love the harp/piano/wtv it is (??) in the instrumental its so cutie patootie ahh)

The song is about cry baby trying to help her classmate with her eating disorder when it says no orange juice she's means that no more throwing up and when she says i wish i could give you my eyes it is because she is telling her that her body is perfect the whole song is basically saying that you should love who you are and when it says everyone wants what the others one working it is saying people want to look like other people but the whole song is based around being yourself which can't be truer.

This song is about a girl named Fleur Who goes into Kelly the popular who’s also a bitch anyways Fleur wants to fit into Kelly’s mean girl squad so she eats orange juice which make you skinnier but then Kelly forced a eating disorder called bulimia which is when you force yourself to vomit out all of your food you’ve eaten to make yourself skinnier. Kelly forces this onto Fleur crybaby notices that Fleur is also a goddess spawn or inhuman. Crybaby try’s to get Fleur to notice she’s perfect the way she is hence the lyric “I wish I could give you my eyes because yours aren’t working right….” This song shows bulimic people that they don’t need to force this into themselves they should just be who they and fuck anyone who says somebody should become bulimic your perfect the way you are so to anyone who bully’s people and forces eating disorders into people I just have on word 4 u

This song represents a eating disorder called bulimia. Bulimia is when one tries to be more beautiful by being more skinny. People with bulimia would purge food in order to not gain any weight after eating. Purging can be different for everyone like over exercise, use of laxatives, etc. In this song in particular the type of purging crybaby is taking about is vomiting after eating. Cry baby says “You turn oranges to orange juice” which means that people who vomit eat solid food and it will tend to be more of a liquid after vomiting hence orange juice.

from a bulimic's perspective, we regurgitate a sour and acidic orange liquid. hence, "orange juice". if you watch the movie "k-12", you'll understand the context better. the words line up with the scenes. turning "oranges to orange juice" represents turning the solid food you've consumed, into liquid via throwing it up.

It's about an eating disorder bulimia. The oranges symbolise a low calorie healthy food that many people with bulimia eat in order to be skinny. On top of this diet of just oranges which is clearly very little food the character throws the food up. "Turn oranges to orange juice". Orange juice represents vomit which just like orange juice is acidic and leaves that taste in your mouth

This song can be considered as the “Mrs Potato Head” of the K-12 album as both songs cover topics like self-acceptance and (body) confidence.

Crybaby's classmate, Fleur, suffers from bulimia.
Bulimia is where you throw up all the food you ate to lose the weight gained from it. Crybaby is trying to tell her she's perfect the way she is and begs her to stop her eating disorder. This is telling people that it doesn't matter what they look like, just accept yourself for who you are.
