Oasis: Live Forever Meaning
Song Released: 1994
Live Forever Lyrics
How your garden grows
I just want to fly
Lately did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks it to the bone
Maybe I just want to fly
I want to live I dont want to die
Maybe I just want to...

#1 top rated interpretation:To me the song is about hope.
How nothing is perfect.
You take what you have.
And it's okay to look back. -
2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:The song live forever is unique in the sense that it inspires a lot of people just by the words in it. The words in it are extremely meaningful for example "Lately did you ever feel the pain In the morning rain As it soaks it to the bone" refers to the struggles in life are only made worse as they become more apparent. "Maybe I will never be All the things that I want to be now is not the time to cry Now's the time to find our way" may refer to unemployment as this was a big thing in Manchester at the time this song was written, although you've been knocked back, you must continue in order to find your way in life. "I think you're the same as me We'll see things they'll never see You and I are gonna live forever" may refer to two people in the same situation experiencing the same thoughts and feeling and thinking that they will literally live forever. The underlining meaning in this song in my opinion is basically about being unemployed and being on benefits and the daily struggles in between.

So apparently he wrote in response to I hate myself and want to die which is btw a beautiful song. He had commented on their attitude. Well first of all I hate myself and want to die was sarcastic he even wanted to call in utero that but was scared not everyone would get the sarcastic title. Second of all nirvana was great because of their attitude he wrote bout the human misery which touched us all.

Noel lyrics were a response to the whole downbeat and negative attitude that was then prevalent in grunge music, particularly those of Kurt Cobain, writing for Nirvana.
“It struck me that this fucker, an extremely talented guy, had everything I wanted,” Gallagher explained. “He was rich, he was famous, he was in the greatest rock and roll band of its time — and he’s writing songs saying he hates himself and wants to die! My way of thinking was, Well, I fuckin’ love myself, and I’m gonna live forever, man!” -
I believe this song is about pain, struggle and success, he is saying if you don't follow your dreams you will never know what you can become but there is slight doubt that it might not be achieved, he wants to fly & succeed otherwise what is the point in life? This song makes me cry actually I relate it to my dad who has passed away, I do believe you live forever, your soul lives on. This song does not get enough credit really. It made me think about my own life situation and where I want to be in life.one of my favourite oasis tracks!

The song is about the nihilism of Nirvana
"In 1994, Oasis released their third single, Live
Forever which was a response to the nihilism of
Nirvana and one of Noel Gallagher's greatest moments
as a songwriter" Total Guitar UK February 2012 page 90 -
Noel gallagher said in an interview (featu res in his special edition NME magazine) that "It's a song about having a friend who could be your friend for life. The lyrics go, 'Maybe I don't really wanna know/How your garden grows' and I think that's just saying, 'I don't care about your bad points, ////i love you for the good in you.'

its about teenage friends, they see the world different than the rest of the adult people, that's why they not interested in how the garden grows or problems that seem absurd to teens that just want to fly, and yes the part about flying is referred to weed and also because they want to get out of the crappy city. and yes the part about the rain it has to do with the troubles in life, and it has absolutely nothing to do with loosing jobs and that kinda stuff.

i thinnk the song is just about the struggles of being young and on the dole. ' maybe i just fly wanna live, i dont wanna die' i think is about breaking out your shell and becoming who you really aspire, and not being another somebody but being someone people will remember forever.

i believe the songs about forgetting life as it was and starting living it more and that you dont really care what people say anymore about you cause, you've realised that you couldn't give a damn about anyone or someone in particular about something thats happening in your life that puts you mood down. The song just makes you re-think life and makes you feel with deep anguish I feel that the chorus is the powerful part of the song :DDDD

1. Maybe,i don't really wanna know, how your garden grows-cuz I just wanna fly.
This a message that not anyone can write and also understand-i think that all that these guys what to say is that-mind you're own business mate and let me(or us) take care of our as well, just let us fly..... :)
2. Lately did you ever feel the pain
in the morning rain
as it soaks it to the bone-when it's rainy it's rainy for everyone no matter how old, rich, important you are- it's rainy for all of us.....
3. Maybe I just want to fly I want to live I don't want to die
maybe I just want to breath
maybe I just don't believe....
-pls-leave me alone,i wann'a live my life as I want ,till the day comes, yes and I want to breath fresh air in a free world-and I don't believe in a word you cunts say. -
