One Direction: Act My Age Meaning
Act My Age Lyrics
One, two, three, four
[Verse 1: Niall & Liam]
When I'm fat and old and my kids think I'm a joke
'Cause I move a little slow when I dance
I can count on you after all that we've been through
'Cause I know that you'll always...

#1 top rated interpretation:This song means that no matter how old a couple will grow, they will always act young around each other. They will fool around like they did when they were younger. They will never act their actual age and continue to enjoy life and have parties, like their youth hood.

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:I think the song is not acting your age, and doing what you want to do no matter what age you are. Like the boys at concerts and stuff, they act like 5 years old but we love that, and they love it too and they don't want to act their age.

I think that this song is about friendship/relationship, where you feel so safe around each other that you can act like little kids and fool around together. You are not going to judge each other. You can be just yourself with them.

I honestly think that act my is about one direction and I know how that sound because I'm writing this 11 years after they broke up. But listening to this song gives me just a glimmer of hope that maybe one day they will get back together "after all that we've been through". I'm probably not right but I just really wanted to say this.

It means that no matter how old you get, there is always a young side of you inside, and there are some people who want to show that outside, and they wont act their age. Like the boys, they act like toddlers, its cute, and they love to do so.
-
This song is about seeing people whose love fades after they get older, but knowing you'll still love someone and act the same around them even once you both grow old. And you know your love is reciprocated.
