One Direction: Long Way Down Meaning
Long Way Down Lyrics
Went down in the flames
We sailed the ocean
And drowned in the waves
Built a cathedral
But we never prayed
We had it all, yeah
And we walked away
Point of no return and now
It's just too late to turn around
I try...

I think this song is basically about the band...I mean they had it all, they'll were up high the biggest band in world.but that's what the world has seen of them..five album in five years but yet we didn't know what was going behind the closed doors."i tried to forgive you but I don't know how"meaning it could be about the record label or management....they have suffered enough to a point where they couldn't take it no more.
"We had it all but we walked away"...as you all can tell the hiatus.
"No point of return"...we are still hoping if they will return or not...yet it's been 5 years. -
I dont think this song is about the band, it’s simply a song that represents a relationship where both people took it for granted. As the song says, “we had it all yeah, but we walked away”.

This song could be seen as being about the band or about a relationship in both instances it means being in a good place and walking away from it in the case of the band the hiatus but in the case of a relationship maby a couple that was very close and had a great relationship but they broke up hence the “we had it all yea but we walked away”

This song is about how far they have come in the career and now they are over and its about them knowing its going to be a long time for them to let go of this all.As the song said "we built up so how but now I'm falling, its a long way down from here" If you are looking for new good music I recommend the new album from one dirtion that came out a few months ago which is "Made in the A.M."
