One Direction: Perfect Meaning
Song Released: 2015
Perfect Lyrics
I might never be the one you take home to mother
And I might never be the one who brings you flowers
But I can be the one, be the one tonight
When I first saw you
From across the room
I could...

#1 top rated interpretation:i might be wrong but what if when it says "And if you like having secret little rendezvous" for me personally that screams harry and louis!

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:This song goes so well with the music video for "Just Hold On" by Louis, which of course makes sense because he wrote it (with Harry).
The lyrics are visual and not too complicated - about a relationship between two high-profile musicians ("if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about") that sounds like it is for fun and with no real plans for the future ("That don't mean that we can't live here in the moment" / "I might never be...").
In terms of who the song is about, I think it is interesting how in one interview, when the host mentioned there had been speculations about who the song was written for and then that it had been linked to Taylor Swift, Harry responded by saying "I didn't know THAT was the speculation". This would suggest that Harry was conscious of rumors surrounding the song but he had a different rumor in mind and wasn't even thinking about Taylor. It is probably safe to assume that he was referring to Louis Tomlinson, since they co-wrote this song about a secret relationship and ever since the band formed there have always been rumors surrounding the two due to their excessive friendliness, an extraordinary number of coincidences and a couple too many blurry videos in Wellington. -

#3 top rated interpretation:Everyone is saying this song is about Taylor Swift just because Harry wrote it. If you look at who wrote it on the album, it says Harry Styles AND Louis Tomlinson. Give Louis some credit please. What if he wrote or came up with that line? After all, Taylor was Harry's beard. Maybe Louis is poking fun at Taylor?? and plus its just one line that has to do with taylor. Not the whole entire song. ugh

Personally I think it's about Harry and Louis relationship they wrote it together and for the last album together after being best friends for 5 and half years and such a close one I mean if you don't ship them I understand but to me I think they definitely are or we're together and the lyrics just proves it "if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms" all the two of them did was have as much fun as possible and didn't care if they got in trouble "and if you like having secret little rendezvous" they weren't allowed to be together because their record label was anti LGBT so they had to have a secret relationship "if you like to do the things you know we shouldn't do" they weren't allowed to even sit by each other because they never followed the rules they almost kissed on camera more than once and wouldn't stop holding each other or whispering witch was against the rules and they knew they weren't supposed to so I think it is 100% about how controlled their lifes we're because they were perfect but not allowed to be

I think it's about Larry because hotel room they stayed in a hotel and secret little Rendezvous.bye luvs.
-
I think this song is about Louis and Harry. If you look on the Made In The A.M CD it says Harry and Louis wrote the song. In the song it says "and if you like having secret little rendezvous" which is meaning if you like meeting u in secret without anyone knowing. Which just screams Larry.
-
That's very obvious. But, I didn't knew Zayn and Louis involve in that song. I thought it was Harry Styles song for Taylor Swift. I should have checked who wrote the song. I still haven't understood the meaning of this.

I want to do this song when I was growing up but it’ll be like fun pop and teen anthem to sing along with, but I have friends that can help me with my songwriting and my cousin Philip is really good with music I can email him if he can write a song for me. It’ll be nice if Philip wanted to write my songs for me. I would email him and say hello. It’ll be his day to talk to me on email.

I believe this song is for us people and them celebrities. Like, as soon as someone who doesn’t want to be famous or known gets together with someone famous, well, all the sudden, they’re famous, too. For example - I think Harry and Louis wrote this one? - say, one of them likes some person and wants to keep in between just them two (Harry or Louis and the person.) With the amount of people watching celebrities at all times pretty much, all these two can do is ‘secret little rendezvous,’ ‘midnight driving,’ and ‘hotel rooms.’ All they can do is ‘live in the moment,’ and all they can be for each other is someone to ‘love in the moment.’ Not proper, public relationships. ‘If you like cameras flashing every time we go out/baby I’m perfect’ really convinced me of this. Because that’s what it must be like to date a celebrity.
Anyway, this is my opinion on this song. Not saying it’s real/true, just what I thought when I thought about it a bit, listening to the song. -
This song is gorgeous. Its a secret rendevous between a couple who do whatever they want to basically. Doesnt have to be full committed. Its a fun romp in a hotel . Or in a hot SPA !!!!! Shhhhh its all secretive for 2 consenting adults with no cheating. Single couples

Larry. 'SECRET RENDEVOUS' HELLO??
-
It could mean a affair? "I might never be your knight in shining armour I might never be the one you take home to mother and I might never be the one to bring you flowers but I can be the one to be the one tonight" could mean he wants nothing more than just a fling. "When I first saw you from across the room I could tell you were curious girl I hope you know what your looking for cause I'm not good at making promises" so this could mean various things but in my opinion it could mean he saw her could tell she was looking at him and was curious about him but he isn't promising nothing serious. "But if you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms and having secret little rendezvous" seems like he only wants fun and to have secret meet ups which could also mean a fling/affair. "Then baby I'm perfect for you" it's like he wants nothing serious but if that's what she wants then there perfect. I mean this song can mean so many things this is the way I like the see the song though :)

This song is saying that he'll be whatever, but that they just need to live in the moment, because he is unsure of future plans.
-
The song is all about girls and guys who are "friends with benefit"
-
I think that he's saying that might not be great "I might never be the night in shining armor and I might never be you take home to mother" but noticed her and she curious but he was wasn't great at keeping promises but if she likes causing all kind of trouble and go places they can't pronounce etc. shes perfect for him and she could love him from time to time.
-
I think its for the fans. "I might never be you're Knight in shining armor, I might never be the one you bring home to mother". Its about how we might not end up with the boys, but they love us regardless. we love them too.
