   As much as possible, both of them wants the best for their relationship. They're doing their best just to save it. But, the situation is no matter how much they try to refrain from falling apart, it seems that parting ways' the only thing they have to do. In the end, they've decided to start it all over again.

   I think same mistakes is about a guy and a girl who are in an unhealthy relationship, but they love each other and want to stay together. There are obviously evident probelms in the relationship but they guy is the only one that wants to do something about it, and the girl wants to continue on like there was no problems in the first place "Don't look back, but if we don't look back, we're only learning things, how to make all the same mistakes again". So I think he is trying to get the girl to relize that they cant go on unless they look back and fix the problems they have. That's just how I see it

   Based on the song title same mistakes, it’s basically a guy and girl in a relationship who kept repeating the same mistakes in their relationship, hoping that the results will be different. It’s an unhealthy relationship.

   idk if it's true bt i m giving my personal experience.if u read Harry's part it says-..we know where it takes us we've been b4..it means that they were on a 2nd chance relationship n that they hv broken up b4.n it t says that they r not putting any efforts to make their relationship work but they r expectin that the end might change..n that they r takin it 4 granted -n that is what is their 'SAME MISTAKES'..n when they say-'DON'T LOOK BACK....'n it says that if they don't look back n learn 4rm their previous ignorance then they r repeatin all the same mistakes....

   This couple has been dating for a while, and it is evident to the guy that it isnt going to work anymore. They had been on and off for a long time. She thinks this relationship is fine while he understands that they can not go on. But at the end, he realizes that these fights are what make this relationship special, and so they keep playing "these same old games". A little unfortunate and sad, really.

    They both want the relationship to work, he finds out that it just won't end up the way he wants it. He says "when it's broken and you say there's nothing to fix" as in when were fighting you say it's okay. He thinks breaking off will be the best option.
