   This song is about Zayn leaving. Zayn's leaving was planned so they decided to write a song for two reasons
   
   1) To confuse us even more
   
   2) To make it look like a a coincidence, but really isn't.

   The song is about how the band broke up or a "hiatus" as they call it. They are talking about how they used to be close but now are not you can tell that by "we keep taking turns, will we ever learn". Also they "spaces" represent the band and the relationship between them. They're asking "who's gonna be the first to say good bye" and soon one of them left. Also they said " forgetting every promise we ever made" they said that they wouldn't break up they have .

   this song could either be about larry or zayn leaving the band. zayn admitted to talking about leaving the band a year earlier so unless he discussed that with the boys before they wrote this song, there's not a way this song could be about zayn. it could be about larry and it could be talking about how management is pushing them away, further and further every day.
