   My OPINION;
   
   Through The Dark is about a close friend and/or a girlfriend/boyfriend that is going through a rough time. They are depressed, and are very negative towards the thought of any 'light an the end of a tunnel'. The person is in a really bad place, but the boys can tell that the once happy, chirpy, bubbly person is still there, just hiding..

   Personally I think it's about someone who is depressed and how the boys are there for them. Because for one "You tell me that your tears are here to stay." When someone is depressed the tears don't leave they're sad and they're sad for a long time. Then they say "But I just want to see you smile again." and so on and so forth it's probably about the fans struggling with depression and the boys saying that they're there for them. It could also be about one of the girlfriends being hurt by hate from fans and them supporting them "through the dark" times that are occurring. Either way its about how the boys are supporting someone while they're struggling with depression. But that's just my opinion so sorry if you don't agree.

   I think its really letting people know that it is ok to cry and be upset and to feel different emotions but you should show your true self and that even though you may have been through tough times there will always be people looking out for you and there are always people around that you can talk to and trust, that is my interpretation of it anyway! I really love this song!

   I think it's about a girl who one direction met, and she inspired them to write this. I think it's about a girl who is in a coma, and she doesn't remember anything about her life, because it says, "it'll come back to you". Also, I think it means that he'll be there for her until she remembers, and after that. The girl thinks that all hope is lost, but he'll help her through it.

   I think they can sing it to the fans saying they'll always be there to them, but I truly believe that when interpreted to a specific person, then it's about a couple who went or are going through a lot of things but one of them is saying he won't give up. Or it can be about a girl who got heartbroken and is afraid to fall in love (with the same or a different person) and get hurt again, so the boy is telling her he won't be a jerk, that he'll treat her in the best way possible, even carry her "over fire and water for her love" I think it's a very sweet love song.

    I think this song is the boys way of saying that there always there for their fans because they know that some of their fans are going through depression, self harming, not feeling as happy as they used to be or as they would put it going through the dark period of their life but they know it will get better with time and help.

    Okay this is just me interpreting it so your's might be different. :)
    
    I reckon this song might be about a girl who went through a terrible heartbreak and warns this boy in the song that she won't be able to love again but he can see that with a little trust, she could fall in love with him again but this time, he would love her properly and take care of her.
