Paramore: We Are Broken Meaning
We Are Broken Lyrics
And I've been waiting for the sun
With my wide eyes
I've seen worlds that don't belong
My mouth is dry with words I cannot verbalize
Tell me why we live like this
Keep me safe inside
Your arms like towers
Tower over...

Just in case anyone was wondering, this is not a "Christian" song. It's about an organization called love146. Love146 is an organization that raises awareness about sex slavery all over the world. Paramore wrote this song about the children being sold in the human trafficking brothels. They wrote this song and are selling hoodies to raise awareness.

the song was was written and recorded for an organisation called To Write Love On Her arms which is an organision to help teenagers with depression but also on the Final Riot dvd hayley dedeicates the song to another organisation called Love146, which is an organisation to help the world realise the sex slavery is happening and that we're not doing much to stop it. the song is about not giving up, u may b broken inside but u can get through wateva ur problems are

..am I the only one who thinks this song is about Pot?

The band itself isnt exactly a christian band but they are all christians. THey seem to me to be and opened band. Because they have songs about God (My Heart, we are broken) and songs about breakup and everyday life. But Hayley is a christan and that song we are broken is a christian song. The 1st interpretation is dead on. And as a christian we spot that as soon as she says your arms like towers its about God. Because that is a big thing that christian songs use to describe God and how he keeps us safe.If you pay attention to little details in some of her songs as a christian we notice its something christian say.

Okay.
Paramore are Christian.
Go to this video if you say otherwise

Even though some of their songs might lead you to think otherwise, they are.
And this song is basically saying that we are broken (over our sins) and is asking God what must we do to restore our innocence (or be forgiven).
And it's like "I am outside, and I've been waiting for the sun"
Sun= God.
She's been waiting for God to do something, because she's been broken.
And He will do something.
She prays to be safe in God's arms, to 'tower over me.'
This song is amazing, and powerful, and ahh, I just love them. -
Paramore is not a Christain band. They've said it themselves before.
-
I agree with the first person all the way.
Paramore is a Christian band - religion is a big part of their life. In this song, they are talking about God. The first anonymous explains the song perfectly. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I am outside
And I've been waiting for the sun
With my wide eyes
I've seen worlds that don't belong
My mouth is dry with words I cannot verbalize
Tell me why we live like this
**She has been waiting for good, for redemption, she doesn't feel she belongs in this world**
Keep me safe inside
Your arms like towers
Tower over me
**I think this is referring to God**
Yeah
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
**She's saying that she's sinned, and she wants to be forgiven. She want's God to fufill the promise He had through Jesus- forgiveness**
Lock the doors
Cause I like to capture this voice
it came to me tonight
So everyone will have a choice
And under red lights
I'll show myself it wasn't forged
We're at war
We live like this
**God spoke to her that night, and she now is proving to herself that she didn't imagine it. She's also saying we're at war with our society, for it becomes increasingly harder to live a Christian life**
Keep me safe inside
Your arms like towers
Tower over me
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
Tower over me
Tower over me
**She's asking God to always watch over her**
And I'll take the truth at any cost
Cause we are broken
What must we do to restore
Our innocence
And oh, the promise we adored
Give us life again cause we just wanna be whole
