I think this song is talking about how highschool isn't some sing and dance television show. It sucks, the touch of the internet, mixed with sucky human beings and a messed up sence of normal, along with the fact that during your sophmore year your kinda stuck. Your not a adult, and your not a child. You have the responsibility but not the ability to deal with it. You become exposed to all of these 'adult' things but lack being an adult.
