A Match Into Water Lyrics
I kissed the scars on her skin
I still think you're beautiful
And I don't ever wanna lose my best friend
I screamed out god you vulture
Bring her back or take me with her
Tear it down break the barricade
I want to see what...

Unless I am mistaken, It is about Vic's ex-girlfriend. She had breast cancer but has recovered.
"I don't ever wanna lose my best friend" Is an example.
"Bring her back or take me with her"
"I kissed the scars on her skin" Probably referencing chemo?
"Bring her back or take me with her" Vic doesn't want to lose her and is struggling.
"I know that you're in pain
But if we die at the same time does it still scare you" Cancer is painful, and He was perhaps struggling with suicidal thoughts?
"The chemicals will bring you home again" Could be chemo again.
"Shes mine you stay away from her it's not her time" One of the most iconic moments in this song, still it's Vic not wanting his ex to die, somewhere in an interview (Think it was Kerrang!) he said,
"It sounds like a difficult subject to cover but it wasn't in the sense that I wrote the song after she had beaten the cancer. It's actually a celebratory song and it was supposed to be a sort of a gift to her to say 'Hey I'm proud of you. I can't believe you made it through such a horrible situation.' I wrote it for her to talk about and mark the struggle she went through."
-
My interpretation is that the girl he is talking about is suffering from depression and sh and the lyrics " kissed the scars on her skin I still think you're beautiful
And I don't ever want to lose my best friend" are cuts/scars and he kisses them but he still thinks hse beautiful with or without them and the part where it says "I don't ever want to lose my best friend" is because she is suicidal. He is blaming God for taking her away cause here it says "I scream out, God you vulture Bring her back or take me with her" he wants god to bring her back or he wants god to take him to. When it says "The chemicals will bring you home my girl" when she is in the hospital for suicide the medicine they give her aka the chemicals should bring her back to life. "She's mine
You stay away from her It's not her time" He says this meaning god not to taker he because it's not her time to die or commit. "Make me a promise here tonight" a promise as in she wont commit or die tonnight. -
Although i know this song is about Vic's ex gf who was battling breast cancer at the time, i still interpret it like this and I've always thought of it like this. A guy is deeply in love with a girl, or deeply cares for a girl, who is struggling with depression and self harms. He loves the girl no matter what and thinks she's beautiful no matter her scars on her skin ("i kissed the scars on her skin, i still think you're beautiful"). he doesn't want to lose her and wants her to stay alive, or to die with her ("bring her back or take me with her" and "but if we die at the same time does it still scare you"). he thinks that theres no point in living with out her. he thinks she's perfect and will do anything to keep her alive. and that she's tried to kill herself and he's trying to get her to wake up and come back to life almost ("wake up, i know you can hear me"). with everything in him, he's trying to save her. i have a really strong attachment to this song and i think its a really deep and beautiful song, no matter how you interpret it:)

I know this song is about his ex gf that was battening cancer but apparently she’s fine now do idk why he says “bring her back or take me with her” because in my opinion that suggests she has died.
But when I first heard this song I was convinced it was about his gf that was cutting herself but he didn’t care he still thought she was beautiful as he says “I kiss the scars on her skin, I still think you’re beautiful”
I thought that even tho he knew she was self harming he didn’t want to get into a fight with her as he knew that either way she wouldn’t stop that’s why he says “and I don’t ever wanna loose my best friend” This just shows the full acceptance of her.
Then he says ”Bring her back or take me with her!” This suggests that she has killed herself yet later he says “the chemicals will bring you home again” this shows that he believes the hospital and medication will save her.
He says “im the one who haunts her dreams at night” this might mean she’s in a coma, but just near the end he says “when it’s sudden death we fight back” this suggests she didn’t make it and he wants to “fight back” revenge her. -
No offense to anyone but the actual meaning of this song is to his ex girlfirend. She wasn't depressed or cutting. She had breast cancer and finished her last chemo- therapy treatment. He wrote this song for her to show her how he proud he was of her for dealing with all the pain on her own.

Well, as the song was dedicated to Vic's ex, the lyrics suggest that it's about a girl (Most likely loved by the narrator of this song) who has been going through depression, and self harm. I'm just assuming this because the opening lyrics "I kissed the scars on her skin, I still think you're beautiful, and I don't ever wanna lose my best friend. I've screamed out 'God you vulture! Bring her back or take me with her'" and the lyrics "She's mine! You stay away from her it's not her time" which I think mean that the narrator of the song is speaking to whoever bullied/did anything to the girl

what i think is that this song is about a girl who he loves or loved and she is dealing with self harm, depression or anything like that. I got that idea of self harm from the first stanza when it says 'I kissed the scars on her skin,I still think you're beautiful' What i thought here is that even though shes covered in scars he just sees beauty. Also i also think its about how he blames god for taking her away or that he blames her.Because it suggests that shes committed suicide and he blaming her for leaving him and he wanted her stay or he'd go with her. You get the sense that he blames god because it could mean that god could of fixed her but instead god left her to take her own life
Thats my interpretation.
But it also could be argued that its about his ex-girlfriend who died due to cancer, and that he still loved her and that she was the one that he will always love, thats why he wrote the song maybe. But if it is i dont see why he'd blame her for it because she cant help getting cancer it sometimes just happens.
To conclude i would say its more like a girl dealing with self harm/depression etc or that he lost his ex girl friend to cancer and either way he is blaming god for taking her away -
The song is about Vic's ex girlfriend who was battling breast cancer. I believe she fully recovered, though.

This song is about Vic Fuentes' ex gf or his friend and her battle with cancer, she had scars from the chemo and he knew she was dying but he was outraged at God for allowing this to happen to her.
-
this song is about a friend of one of the band members who was battling cancer and had to go through chemo therapy which is why it says "the chemicals will bring you home again." and she probably died because the lyrics also say "bring her back or take me with her"
